:r6: Ubisoft ignoring his Siege community
There is total approx 826 Request made for Steam Deck/ Linux (Proton Battleye) Support, Aug 18th, 2022. If you go to Ubisoft Discussion page you'll see it's a "Weekly Request". Damn People are desperate for this ! It is the most commonly asked request for Siege. What are you doing Ubi ? Why you keep ignoring your community ?

Why Ubi ? Can't you send a single email to Battleye to enable Linux support?

:r6: Even EA and other devs is now giving supports towards Linux
You guys know about Apex Legends right ? It's now perfectly playable under Steamdeck/Linux with much higher frame rate. Even you can play Battlefield 4,1,5 fine under Linux. Please learn from them Ubi, they're now respecting their community, but you guys keep going backwards in time.

Rainbow Six Siege has the native Vulkan support, I've tried it under Linux (Most Steamdeck & Linux users also played). It works perfectly fine. T-hunt, Local match working perfectly fine. But whenever you wanna start Online match Battleye kicks you out. Come on Ubi just one email to Battleye, it's already right there ! Can't you see ?

:r6: Some people don't like Windows
I know its a controversial topic. But don't get me wrong. After the Windows 11 update Microsoft is pushing lot's of telemetry, bloatwares & forcing people to use a Online account and their ridiculous System Requirements (My hardware supports Windows 11 out of the box anyways). Some people don't care, some people migrating to other options. People are getting into Linux gaming, Steam deck is a rising star ! Atleast Linux is way more faster & efficient than Windows.

Conclusion
Finally I've to quite Rainbow Six Seige (Level 134 account). Because I can't play it under Linux and it's impossible to dual boot between Windows and Linux. I tried to run this game under KVM/QEMU but Battleye kicks me every time. So have no option. I have to ditch this great game.
I hope Ubisoft will understand this and approach Battleye for Linux (Steam proton) support. Bcz Battleye already supporting Linux. Please Ubi, we are requesting you for this small feature. We know you can do it. If you keep ignoring us, we'll stop playing your games one by one. Hope you understand.

+1 Please I've been waiting way too long for this. Linux has just gotten to a point where I can do anything on it, it's so much better for getting work done. Never using windows again.

Me too. Once games run well on Linux, Windows will have a very hard time... Problem is, M$ knows it.

Ubisoft doesn't value their customer opinion. They're on their own. They do whatever they like, whatever seems better to them.

Not sure I want to play with my steam deck 60hz with controller while others at 1080p+ 120fps+.

Not sure if it changed but on my ps4 pro there was no leaning so I quit playing first game.

Not enough buttons to map side leaning I guess...You would just be a liability to your team.

Although I have Windows 10, the though on trying this game never crossed my mind since I have no desire to lose on purpose like the children in this game.

I agreed with you all of it except dual boot. To dual boot with windows 11, you don’t need to follow most of the YouTube videos that you found, like download partition tool, etc. all you need is Steam deck recovery USB, and windows 11 USB. Boot it with the Steam Deck recovery, it’s loading a minimal steam OS into memory so your steam deck SSD/eMMC is not mounted, which means you can modify the size. After the SteamOS is loaded, do not use recover image. Instead go to applications, go to systems, then find KDE Partition. Resize your main drive, which has the most space, to have some unallocated space, let’s say 200GB for windows. Then shutdown, and then boot up with the windows USB, when it asks you where to install, choose that 200GB unallocated space, select New, then Format, then next. Follow through installation, and finally install all drivers provided by Steam from their website. Install windows updates, all done. No command line needed, no extra GPart partitioning tool needed.

there is already a linux port, as it runs on Stadia,so activating it for users should be straight forward.
