Option 1:

Windows 10 > Settings > Privacy > App Permissions > Microphone > Allow apps to access your microphone > ON.

This setting also controls incoming VOIP for some reason. Also, sometimes Windows Update turns this option off, so check it if it happens again.

Option 2:

Right-click volume icon > Sounds > Playback > make sure you have the right speakers/headphones set as default.
Right click volume icon > Sounds > Recording > make sure you have the right microphone set as default.

Option 3:

Ingame Options > Audio > Voice chat volume > set to 100.
Ingame Options > Audio > Voice chat record level > set to 100.

Option 4:

Make sure you don't have a firewall blocking incoming and outgoing connections regarding this game.

Option 5:

Maybe go into your router and add a couple of lines in "port forwarding" to make sure Siege can connect freely. See this:

Does it happen all the time or just some games?

If all the time idk why.
If it happens on some matches it''s just another r6 bug where your mic doesnt work, if it happens restarting the game will solve the issue
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Voice Chat Output Disabled/Not Connecting
Hello,
I am having issues with my in game voice chat. I am able to hear my teammates and the score board shows i have a mic like my teammates but for some reason my name doesn't pop up when using push to talk or open mic on the side of my screen when trying to talk through my input device as it normally would. I have tried all troubleshooting tips found here "https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/rainbow-six-siege/connectivity-and-performance/article/in-game-voice-chat-troubleshooting/000060669" but still having issues.

I have also tried reinstalling r6 and uplay, checking file integrity, updating input/output device drivers, updating win10/gpu drivers, disabled all other audio devices, restart pc and modem.

Any other things I can try?

Thanks

Hey there.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Does this seem to happen in the first game you play and then works after that or is it completely random? Can nobody else hear you in-game or is it that the mic indicator isn't appearing when you're talking?

Voice Chat Connection Not Working after Disabling One Microphone
Quick things to get out of the way: I have a Blue Snowball iCE and Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. My scoreboard is bound to TAB and my push-to-talk is set to my mouse button, with the threshold set to 20 (formerly 35) and recording level 85.

I've previously had multiple external microphones for my desktop PC, one including the headset microphone on my Razer Kraken. I did not want to use the microphone on my Razer Kraken, so I had disabled the audio device in the windows sound settings panel to force games to use my Blue Snowball. I don't remember which device was the default, but the default device is currently my Snowball. After doing this, voice chat in Rainbow 6 stopped working correctly. I can no longer see the headset icon or who is speaking in the game, and when I press my push-to-talk button, I do not see my name as speaking and I do not see a headset icon next to my name in voice chat. I don't think I can hear other players, but I have not confirmed this, and I know that other people in the game can hear me. I have re-enabled the headset microphone, and both microphones work in other applications. My game is up to date, and I've tried resetting the audio settings and restarting my game & PC, but have not tried to uninstall and reinstall the game.

Any solutions? I'll be sure to answer any questions to the best of my ability and I really appreciate the help. Thanks!
Hi,
I faced a similar problem and found a way to get the mic working back:
1 - In the main screen, go to Settings-> Audio, Disable the voice chat and apply the change.
2 - Go find a match (I usually first try a quick match to ensure that the mic will work)
3 - At the preparation phase, go to settings -> Audio and Enable (not push to talk) the mic. Apply changes.
4 - If desired, change the configuration to push to talk, and apply changes.

Important to say that you must do this procedures every time you launch the game. After that, the mic will work the whole session.
