Borderless Windowed = 33% more performance?

I noticed since 1.1 my game was running a lot slower than it used to. I was getting a solid 60+ FPS and then it dropped to 40 FPS average. I read from some users that this was remedied by setting the game to borderless windowed. Surprisingly, my FPS went back to 60+ average. Measured this all in the benchmark.

Anyone know what the deal is? Some major bug perhaps? This is pretty undesirable for me because I can't enable G-Sync for this game unless it's full screen. But I'm not playing at 40 FPS so it will have to do in the meantime.

Go and find your R6 game folder and on RainbowSix.exe - right mouse click -> Properties -> Compatibility -> "Disable fullscreen optiomizaitons" should be checked.
