How do the weapon skins affect gameplay?
So it is claimed (by someone else) that weapon skins are not just cosmetic, they affect gameplay.

I disagreed.

One of us has played the game...the other hasn't.

So for those of you who HAVE played the game, how do the weapon skins affect gameplay? Or is it the case that they do not affect gameplay at all?

If they do, do all skins affect gameplay or just particular skins?

they dont give power ups but it could damage stealth capability when you have a bright neon green gun.

I don't even bother using skins because most of them would just make you more noticeable.

So it NEGATIVELY impacts gameplay in that situation?

I think someone will see you regardless if you have a skin or not

You can always opt not to use skins. The base weapons are grey/black so skins shouldn't really factor into how stealthy your character can be or how hard it is to spot them unless it's directly effected by you for choosing a very bright skin that's very noticable.

There's no stats boosts with skins. It's purely cosmetic.

The skins are indeed purely cosmetic.

My one gripe with this game is the poor lighting. Many rooms or corners of rooms are very dim. It can make it difficult to spot those who are playing defense. I often get killed by someone I can barely see... especially when trying to peak through a window.

The weapon skins in this game are not simply some sort of camo. They are artsy and flourescent. IMO it would be to your benefit to keep your entire character as dark as possible with black, navy blue, or grey colors.

As eclipse prime said, someone will see your regardless of your camo... but if your using a dark camo/no camo it may take them longer to notice you. That's just my 2 cents.

It would have been better using different skins for the outfit or clothes.

yes but it is much easier to notice something bright and flashy rather than shades of black and gray, its the way the human eye works.

Hi, I'm the person the OP misquoted.

Never said that cosmetics impacted gameplay, I was in a discussion about how I'm disapointed this game has microtransactions. I don't apprieciate the OP talking about me like this.

Heres the link to the discussion

You do realize that this is a public forum and what you post is recorded, right? You are lying right now and just got caught.

When I said that the cosmetics in this game made no difference, you said:

Also, this is what you said:

"It tends to lower the enjoyment of those playing the game, knowing that, no matter how small, they aren't getting the full experience, and even if they pay for the content, it leads to more disatisfaction with the product, less likelihood to keep playing, and less enthusiam and support from the community."

You then even said that the agument was:

"Purely cosmetic items directly affect gameplay through psychological manipulation and creating a "class system" of haves and have nots. Those who do have the optional, cosmetics diminishes the experience of those who do not have the same cosmetics as they are made to feel inferior to those who do have it."

Because you keep lying and backpedaling and trollilng, it was important to get the facts. That's why asking the community, those who have actually played the game, were asked for their input.

Very dishonest of you, man.

You.... are such a jerk I HAVE NEVER LIED, I have done no backpedaling. For crying out loud, this isn't a FREAKING ARGUMENT ABOUT IF THE COSMETICS ARE GOOD.

I simply do not like that microtransactions are in this game, and you kept pushing on cosmetics and being a total jerk.

I NEVER SAID THAT, I NEVER SAID THAT WAS MY ARGUMENT, STOP LYING YOURSELF.

I did. You are wrong, as usual. You lied. You have been outed as a troll, and others know it as well.

I'll end it with this:

Weapon skins DO NOT affect gameplay in Raibow 6: Siege. You were wrong.
i see people saying that skins make it easier to see the operator, but keep in mind that they only affect them seeing you by like half of a second. They DO affect gameplay, but in such a small way that i think having a skin on your gun isnt going to affect you in the long run.
