Did anyone one find anything ??
That doesn't help for me. The uplay overlay is for mic, I think just for group chat. The volume setting is for voice receiving volume.
My issue is the game is too quiet. Full stop. I have game max, system max. Play Killing Floor 2 and it's insanely loud, I have to turn the game down heaps to make it bareable. R6 Siege? I have tried Equalizer APO and Viper4Windows but both don't seem to work with latest Win 10 updates (or at least on my install). I previously used Equalizer APO for programs like Siege that were annoyingly quiet. But now I don't have that option.
The last resort for me would be getting a headphone amplifier. I was thinking of getting a cheap 192kHz DAC, possibly with DTS and Dolby support, with a headphone jack, so I could always spend a bit more to get one with a headphone amp/volume knob. Or a separate headphone amp. But it's a stupid fix, I hope that soon someone updates EQ APO or similar program to work with latest Windows 10 updates for system wide EQ/preamp options.
P.S. I haven't tried all the options for EQ APO install yet, I've tried original and non original installs, haven't tried experimental yet, will try when get some time. But really frustrating it won't work at all so far. Also Viper4Windows looks very nice, has 3 tabs for each profile/preset, so you can switch quickly between 'movie' 'music' and other option selections. Not as powerful as EQ APO but more user friendly. There's also 'Peace' GUI for EQ APO if you find it daunting (it's like a basic rack display the way you add elements).
Uninstall any Equalizer APO install. Restart.
Uninstalled device and driver from device manager (for me Realtek High Definition Audio default). Restart.
Installed latest Realtek driver only from Realtek website - no sound manager so redownloaded the latest for my mobo (Asus M5A99X Evo, 2016 audio for x64 Win 10) - restart required to install. Removes default Windows driver. Upon restart installs driver and sound manager. Restart.
Reinstall Equalizer APO with Administrator rights. I also did Windows 7 compatibility just in case, don't know if it helped. Restart.
Now I finally have EQ APO working.. BUT.. I couldn't create a new profile and get it to work. So use only config.txt I found to work. I don't know why I couldn't get a custom profile to work.
EQ APO has normalise option / loudness maximiser, but screw that, just preamp up. I have to test what level I like but am guessing it will be 5-7dB.
Woot!
p.s. I tried a bunch of EQ APO troubleshooting install options but in the end I managed to install with default 'install for both pre and post, install original APO selected for both and the default APO install style (LFX I think it is called). I saw on forum posts suggestions to try the other install styles with and without 'Original APO' selected if the default doesn't work for you. I'll give Peace a try soon to see if it makes it easier to use a custom profile or to help me figure out what was going wrong and why had to only use the 'config.txt' default profile.
p.p.s. I'm pretty sure it's a design decision of the game to reduce sound whoring, or to more level the playing field sound wise.. but it's crap, it just makes people like me go out and buy headphone amps and stuff.
hello can you share your settings for eq apo? do you use it with peace gui? can you use diferent profiles for games and other stuff? sorry for my bad english, i want to try the eq apo because my headset has low volume in general thanks to the usb audio card that comes, logitech g430, if i remove the usb sound card cant use 7.1, any other games the sound is more loud than rainbow six siege.
For EQ APO I have trouble if I change the 'config.txt' file - which loads your default/saved APO setup. I found if I created a new one with a different name, or even created another 'config' it wouldn't work. I have to use the default one that shows up upon fresh install, or it doesn't seem to work.
I managed to get working last format with fairly default setting, 'install apo' to pre and post mix, use original APO unchecked, install as LFX/GFX.
Haven't used any gui with it.
I only use basic -> preamplifier for a gain boost - around 8-10dB is good for R6 Siege I find. There are heaps more options though

Yep, doesn't seem to help really, seems more EQ profiles for bass cut (nighttime) etc
Another game I found was too quiet, apparently for artificial difficulty in pvp, was The Hunt Showdown, played free weekend.
Thank you so much, i´ll give it a try, you were very helpful
One last option if software doesn't work, there is always the option of a headphone amplifier - Ebay are very cheap and Behringer have a $30 USD one, it gives a bit of extra boost when needed. The Behringer is a bit unsuited for single person use though (it has four outputs, I think designed for radio shows and for recording bands mostly) as it's a bit bulky, but - it works.
If it doesn't work upon installing, try ALL the options - pre or post mix by themselves, different install options, 'original APO' checked and unchecked. You can also install to more than just speakers - you can use on microphone, line in etc etc, but to keep it simple I just install to speakers (I have front and back outputs running same audio analog simultaneously, so can have speakers and headphones plugged in and both considered 'speakers'). It is annoying that you need to restart each time you try installing with a new option, but the results are worth it (different sound cards/mobos/drivers require different options).
