What is the POINT of cheating in quick match ?

This guy was cheating in a quick match, got reported by all of us in my team, and got banned the next day.
He was level 71. He could have easily played ranked games. He could have got elo at least.

The same reason smurfs and 5 person sweat stacks play quick match seriously, an ego boost.

What I think a lot of cheaters in quick match do is use one of their throwaway accounts to test the boundaries. Every new season a banwave comes, and then I see an influx of cheaters that are easy to spot (don't require a replay watch to see if there's wallhacks or macros). They're likely seeing what has changed, if there's any new exploits, and what they can get away with.

There is a tiny barrier to entry for ranked right now with the mobile number verification system, and you can get around that if you want to, but that extra hurdle means people need to be more conservative with their cheating so at the very least they got undetected for longer.

He was testing his cheaters tool on his alt and seems it works against BattlEye but not against groups report. Since Ubi launch phone number on ranked is make cheaters a little bit difficult to keep cheating in Ranked.

Blame the rnoobs who have no skills and not learning the game.

It is to ruin your day and make you so mad you start shaking in your little gamer seat. So mad you start a thread about it even though it is like you said, quick play.. does nothing to your rank or progression.

It is. But just like with everything else : It's easier to bypass a security, than to make one. For each update they do to their anti cheat, there's 30 ways to bypass it.
You can't get rid of cheaters, never.
The best thing they can do it ban them *after* they started cheating, and stop the most basic cheats they can find. Or queue them up together instead of ban, too. Tht's fun to do.
