fix your game ubisoft...
WHY is a freaking LAUNCHER using 50% of my CPU split between Ubisoft Connect and Ubisoft Webcore?!

When it starts doing this crap, I have to restart my game, because the audio starts crackling and there is huge FPS drops. Never had this problem until coming back to this game a week ago. Would love a fix for this - thanks.

did you make sure your system was up to date before you started playing?

ok, are you playing the game with reduced graphics? There is a bug where if you play the game with lower gpu load then the graphics load will pile on your cpu. Increase the load to about 50ish% GPU load and that should reduce the CPU load.

ya i play on all low/off besides having medium shaders for shadows. I'll give it a shot to see if it helps.

its most likely the ubisoft overlay it causes lower FPS when its enabled

ya I know that, but the thing is, I always had it on and never had an issue, so now how come when I come back to the game, it is not working and is giving me problems?

ya probably, i just hope they fix it because ya i can update my graphics to high, but that is just a band-aid fix at the end of the day, it never actually fixed the problem. I shouldn't have to change my settings to have a balancing act between my cpu/gpu. I might just disable the shift+F2 for now and see if that kinda helps. I had a problem for like 2 seasons in a row where I could not be in a call with discord friends, I would not be able to hear them in-game, and it was hardly ever picking up my voice and stuttering in-game. I got in contact with ubisoft about it, they never helped me fixed it (they "tried"), but a season later, discord works fine with R6 and NOW I have this launcher problem lmao. I used to have to use steam voice chat while playing R6 with some friends because steam worked but Discord didn't work with R6 hardly ever.

Hello teeray thanks for getting in touch with us.

I have noticed a few players reach out to us since March explaining how Ubisoft Connect may be using more CPU usage after the latest update.

if you have already run through our troubleshooting guide to see if this can prevent this higher usage > https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000061047

Please also try the following steps to see if these can help you also >

-Open the Task Manager tool on your PC, and look for any running programs other than the game and game launcher. Close down all of these programs, except the game and game launcher, then 'clean boot' your computer, and restart the game to make sure you free up your CPU usage just for the game >
https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000063761

-Disable any in-game overlays you may have active in your game launcher, in the Ubisoft Connect or Steam game launcher settings, as using in-game overlays can sometimes contribute to high CPU use depending on the game

-Test the CPU usage after lowering some settings. In the games menu and your GPU control software, enable Vsync, lower your FPS usage, and lower your graphical preset. Running games on high/ultra with maximum FPS available can cause strain not only on your Vram but CPU too

-Update all your game, game launcher, Windows, graphics card drivers, and peripheral drivers, as updating your drivers may eliminate compatibility issues or bugs that can sometimes cause increased CPU usage

-Check your power options in Windows and set it to High Performance in case of any CPU throttling. Open your Windows Settings, type 'Power Options, select 'Addition Power Settings', then select a High-Performance plan.

You can also create a new power plan in these options and set your maximum use of your CPU to 95% or another value to stop your CPU running at 100%, this will sometimes make your GPU work harder instead of putting the strain on CPU

If after running through all of these steps, you are still experiencing high CPU rates, please could you make a private support ticket with us, as we will need your system files to send to our Siege QA team for further investigation of why this is affecting certain players > https://www.ubisoft.com/help/contact

Please attach the following information to your ticket to aid us in our investigation and help us get to the bottom of this recent issue >

but it aint nothing else tho. Its just ubisofts overlay. All my drives are up to date and nothing else is taking up gpu/cpu space other than ubisofts games and their overlay

Same, up until last week I was able to play with 0 problems. Then suddenly, 4 crashes in one day, and it didn't improve much in the days that followed.
Since yesterday I disabled Ubisoft Connect overlay and the game works great, no crashes at all. So I guess that's the fix.

Thanks for the follow-up Von_Kalev and Chapter Master.

I have opened a new investigation into this issue with our Siege team, hopefully, we can get this Connect overlay usage looked into soon, but we may need certain system files from players to look for any patterns of which players are affected by this most.

Please stay tuned for any further updates on this issue in the forums :)

I have same issue. When you accept your friends invite or inviting him/her, Webcore CPU usage is getting crazy. When it happened, you cannot play any FPS game.

In addition, When I want to play the game with my friends, I must use this broken system. The only way to "inviting" stuff. Because there is no in-game lobby system in R6. Please fix this issue. We cannot play this game anymore. 34-59 FPS is not enough for R6.

Hello docella, thanks for getting in touch with us.

This issue is still under investigation at the moment, if none of the suggested fixes in my previous post have helped with your performance in-game and your CPU still runs high when the overlay is enabled, please could you contribute/upvote to our open R6Fix bu report here, thank you >> https://r6fix.ubi.com/projects/RAINBOW6-SIEGE-LIVE/issues/LIVE-37303
