Why would I ever use the 417 when I could use the p9?
Seriously though, they both do the same thing. Both can 1 shot headshot from any range and p9 has more bullets and shoots faster.

This is why we shouldn't have the 1 shot headshot for all guns, it makes the damage stat meaningless. There is no functional diffrance between a pistol and a sniper.

ROF and innacuracy. The 417 will send a bullet where you want it to go reliably, whilst the P90 paints the broad side of a barn with sustained fire and gets innacurate pretty quick at range. Shields would lose a massive amount of appeal if headshots were tweaked and Rainbow 6 to my knowledge always has been and always will be a game where headshots paint the wall with brains.

Not to mention the fact that just because headshots are instakills, bodyshots still happen and are generally more likely to happen. If you're fast on the leftclick and accurate, the 417 is a superior weapon because it brings the pain much harder and is much more accurate. Tapping someone two to three times in the chest with it will kill them every time.

While I agree, 1 shot head shot makes high rof weapons OP as if you fire enugh bullets, you have a good chance of getting a random headshot. Using random chance and spray and pray, it is not uncommon to get instakills.

I still think the game should keep the intense damage model, but a pistol shouldn't be as powerful as a sniper. I would say keep keep the intense damage model.
Keep some weapons as 1 shot kills, stuff like the OTS, the 417, and some assault rifles.
Most weapons should be a 2 shot so you actually NEED acuracy(it is hard to randomly get 2 headshots in a row). Maybe some high rof guns (p90) should be 3 shot headshots.

Also, I would sill want a sheild. They will still protect others.

You guys do know by P9, they mean the PISTOL. And why you would pick and use the 417 is very simple, ACCURACY AT RANGE, POWER, AND AMMO CAPACITY! Sure, you can get a one shot head shot with a pistol, but good luck trying to get it from a distance. You miss, or hit anywhere else, you better be quick on the trigger and can adjust aim quickly, because you will be screwed other wise. And if you can get them in your sights again, good luck going for headshots. The 417 has the power to get them down with fewer shots than a P9. And pistols have ♥♥♥♥ all for ammo on back up. They are hold out weapons, nothing more.

I know the p9 is a pistol, that is my point. If you look at the ammo cappacity, the p9 has more.

Yes I know it is better at range but there is little diffrence between the weapons if you get a headshot the first time.

For the first shot, the only thing the benefit the 417 has is the ability to equip an acog. I can honestly use an SMG-11 with an acog and burst fire it in place of a 417. I do this on smoke as his primary weapons don't have acogs.
