actually its not because of ranked matchmaking. Often its because players are forced to grind for 20 levels before they can play the game for real in ranked. It actually takes a fair amount of time to get to ranked compared to other games. I reccomend they make it level 10 for ranked. And im not sure why you think the toxicity is coming from ranked players playing in casual. from where im standing casual is full of cancer and im now glad im never going to have to play it again. maybe your problem is that you are playing in casual in the first place?
oh and toxic communites are not what kills games, LoL has the most toxic environment I can even think of and its going strong. It's so toxic that people joke that the circlejerk of blame is what fuels the servers and still the game chugs on toxic as you please. so dont tell me a couple of jerks are going to kill R6. Especially since this is coming from a guy that apparently only plays casual cause he doesnt like "tryhards" telling him how to play, this is the last person i want telling me what does and doesn't kill a game. IMO people who say things like "dont tell me how to play tryhard" are the most toxic to a game. Because these people are not really playing "the game" they are only entertaining themselves. This is a Pvp TEAM GAME (lemme say that again: TEAM TEAM TEAM TEAM TEAM TEAM, did you get it?). This means that if one person on the team does not care at all and is only out to entertain themselves they can ruin the game for any of the other 4 players who may or may not be more invested in the game than thay are. when you look at it this way "causauls" are not as innocent as they like to think.
Now the obvious solution is to try to segregate the two groups into like minded casuals and ranked players. the problem is for a whole 20 levels some of these players are forced into the camp that they hate. which causes the friction you seem to be observing.
You bring up an interesting point. You are indeed correct in that all I do is play casual, as I figured that'd be where the more laid back chill folks would be. I would've thought the tryhard competitive types would stick to ranked cuz bragging rights is life. You're telling me it's the other way around? I'll have to give ranked a try if this is the case!
nonononono dont. you will hate everyone and everyone will hate you. Im only saying casual is full of cancer and ranked is full of people you can safely assume are more or less invested in the game and winning. nothing more and nothing less.
from a casuals perspective i am one of those tyrhards that will yell at them for not caring they are making me lose. So take what i say with a grain of salt. I dont do it to be toxic, there is just friction between me and those types because our objectives are different. doesnt mean anyone is wrong.
lol! Oh ok. I wasn't even aware about the level restriction for ranked and things make more sense now. Perhaps they should add in a 3rd option, purely for sub 20's to level in? Like a "beginner casual". Or maybe even a 4th option - "beginner ranked". Hummmmm...
this is actually a great idea that would more or less solve this specific problem in my eyes.
nnnnnnnnnnnope but there really should be.
I thought casual should be just that ... casual. If people are so obsessed with winning why don't they play ranked? I personally have neither the time nor will to put up with the abusive language and behaviour of the people crowding casual mp so this is the end of R6 Siege for me.
Somehow the online community has turned sour in 2016. In December I had a lot of games that were fun and people were helpful and forgiving of small mistakes. It seemed like they enjoyed the ride more than the result - as I would expect with casual mp. Now, in 90% of my games over the last weeks all that matters seems to be the result/winning. And if if you ♥♥♥♥ up - and that happens if you only play an hour every few days because you have a life besides Siege and a work etc. - you get constantly harassed.
Sorry but I don't need that.
This is weird man, I'm as casual as they come, and I have had a great time playing casual. Granted I hardly ever play alone. Since I started playing I've been making friends to play with, both in game and on the forums. I mean, I can see where things would get very dry if you play solo all the time.
I looked for people with mics that enjoyed communicating tactics. Now I have a few bros and 1 gal who I play with, I have a great time playing. If you weren't actively seeking out friends to play with, then I'm sure the experience is .... less.
If you play with friends, you are never harassed.
It's not that I mind much to be honest. I had a lof of fun hours in Siege but in every mp game comes a point where the remaining player base gets so good you can't keep up with em because you can't dedicate the same playing time to the game. The amount of really casual players drops and the ones remaining take it far too seriously. Then, some day you reach the breaking point where it's just not fun anymore. And in Siege I've reached that point now. I've got my money's worth and then some so I'm not overly frustrated.
