Why are the GSG-9 dressed so casually?

Sirously, these guys look like they were pulled off the street, geven a helmet, kevlar vest, and a weapon. They all have a hoodie, jeans, and sneakers on. All the other factions are dressed for what their jobs are, to symbolize themselves as police, urban warfar, or outdoors.

Honestly, though... quite a few special forces have civilian clothing. It's the same in my country if they're undercover and will show up at a scene at a moments notice in civilian atire should the need arise.

they have been regularly seen wearing jeans and shoes so they went with that in the game probably for variety since their uniform is just black like some other counter terror teams.

If you know anything about special forces, some of them use civillian clothing to go undercover, minus the helmets of course...

I understand they'd use civi close to go undercover, but when they go into a situation like the ones in this game, I'd expect them to be suited up.

There are a lot of images documenting the GSG9 in jeans and other civilian clothing. Of course, they also have their full-on high-speed low-drag uniforms when they need it, but it's not uncommon to see them respond to a situation quickly, in whatever they were wearing. Hell, Adidas is even the official manufacturer of the combat boots designed for them.

Yeah no prob man! GSG-9 is cool as ♥♥♥♥. Personally, I'm glad they did the civilian gear route in the game. Kinda their trademark, compared to other CTUs.

I like it because it gives the game character ranther than being all uniform. One of the things UBI did right, was the element of character w/ this game.

The pictures are not from GSG9. They are from the SEK (Spezialeinsatzkommando) from the Polizei. It is a specialized armed response unit of the state police. And they show up in their civil dresses, because if there is a criminal situation they need to response quick. Sometimes even if they have "a free day".
The GSG9 is from the federal police and they show up in uniform in almost every case. They are specially trained for counter terrorism in- and outside of Germany.

So technically it is more the SEK in the game :D

But the civilian clothes are typically for the SEK and that gives the german operators the special look matching to their country. I think thats why they dressed so casually in the game :)
