How to enable Ultra-HD Textures?
I can't find a separate setting in the options menue. The name indicates Ultra, but Ultra needs 6 GB Vram while it is said that it's playable with 4 GB cards also.

So are they enabled automatically, regardless which texture setting is choosen?

It does not download automatically. If you have the Steam version, you'll need to download it as free DLC. (one way to do so is to go to the Rainbow Six store page)

open your Uplay ( tho if u run the steam edition i am not sure how to open the uplay , probably by running the game ?, not sure i dont have steams edition )

on Uplay there is a link on the left that says DLC

click that and it will say install ULTRA HD Texture Pack

that will install it for you, then in game to enable it simple on options menu Graphics tab then on textures there will be Ultra option , where otherwise if u hadnt installed the DLC it would max at Very High textures.

btw yeah its recomended 6GB of video mem but 4 might do it , check your tweaks to see if u can have it play cause it looks damn ULTRA HD sweet ( dont surpass your 4GB cause it might lag you )

This should work for the Steam version if the DLC is already "checked" and you can't install it. (Took this from a Steam review)

"°Right click the game in your steam library

°Select properties

°Go to the DLC tab

°Go to the Ultra HD Texture Pack DLC and check the arrow box off then on

°The DLC will then proceed to download in the download menu in your steam library"

Same problem here, its not under uplay - DLC tab only a "store" button bringing me back to steam.

At steam it sais not installed and at the Steam - DLC tab it is checked on, already tried checking it on and off.
This is what worked for me.
1) load up siege
2) alt tab out and click on uplay
3) go to the DLC section and it will say "owned" but you cant click install!
4) go to steam and then to the siege store page
5) click install next to the texture pack
6) force close siege
7) now you should be able to click install on the uplay client in the dlc tab
8) then i waited for it to be completely installed instead of "playable" (9GB) :steamhappy:

Install it under the dlc tab on the steam store page , then reload the game and youll have an option in the graphics settings for ultra textures which puts me (gtx 980) a little over 4 gb of vram

Here is what I had to do to get it to download:

1: Go to R6:Siege store page.

2: Scroll down to DLC and click the Ultra HD Texture Pack

3: Scroll down and where you would normally see install it will say Play Game, click that and it will load you into R6, but if you Tab out you should now have the Ultra HD Texture pack queued for download.

Once the download is finished, the way to verify that the Ultra HD Texture pack was installed is go to the Graphics quality options menu in game, and you should now have an Ultra option for the texture quality. If it only give Very High for your highest Texture Quality then you do not have the HD pack installed.

Here are some of the graphics differences and changes from a few of the options available in-game: http://imgur.com/gallery/enZap

Hope this helps :fhappy:
I had the same problem "not knowing" if the hd texture pack was installed. . . because i never personally downloaded or installed it.
Im pretty sure the steam version COMES with it because of this, but if your not sure. . . . . Right-Click on the game inside of steam. Click the DLC tab, and you should see the HD Ultra texture pack checked and it will say INSTALLED next to it. If you are unsure, or want to reinstall it, UNCHECK it. . . and RECHECK IT, and it will redownload and reinstall.

Hope this helps.
Oh ya, your R6 siege folder will be around 30.5 GBs if you have the texture pack installed versus a 15-20 GB install folder.

You need a REALLY powerful gpu to run this.

4GB isnt enough

8GB is preferable
