To the people using laser sights, dont.
Friendly tip, dont put the laser sights on.

Why?

Because enemies can see you long before you even round a corner, peek through openings or look in any general direction from your hiding place.

The laser makes a VERY strong red line aswell as a dot on the walls, not sure if everyone knows this.

I have gotten so many free kills because i see lasers and just throw a C4 or Grenade because i know they wont have time to react.

Why do people use these things? Very curious.

But thanks for using them tho, nice to know where my enemies are long before they know where i am!

Yeh, It's really stupid you can't toggle them on and off.

Only good for shields. The clunking sound gives you away anyhow.

Amazes me how many players i have met in this game that doesnt seem to know how bad the laser really is for your element of suprise. Maybe they just dont know it shows that well, but it is a death sentence if someone sees it before u round a corner, they will be prepared.

Should be a toggle for it yeah, as right now using it is begging to be killed.

I use it on some weapons who need good hip-fire. it's easy to counter the red sight as long as you remember to not aim so the enemies can see it.

Lazer sights are fantastic for shotguns.

See, thats the main problem, because u would have to constantly aim at ur own legs to avoid it.

While I agree they're useless, pretty sure you can just hold the reload button and it toggles the sight on/off.

Laser sights are just fragbait for enemies. There should be a distinct advantage for using them. Right now they basically just look cool in TH lol

They only give a 5% hipfire accuracy boost to shotguns.

Also, I've run into people that think your laser toggles when you ADS because that's what it looks like from player perspective - but it doesn't, it turns off on your screen but it's still on for everyone else. And it's not just the line and the dot, if you look face on towards someone, no matter the range, they'll see a big red glowing diamond of light on your gun.

You get a 5-20% hipfire boost depending on the weapon type, and in exchange you give away your position at all times. Here's two videos of players spotting the red dot on the wall and killing the laser user.

And a bonus one where the laser glitches through a boarded window revealing the players position to the enemies inside.

(Like people said above, still worth it with shields since your clunking will give away your position at all times anyway)

No! Please keep using them! You make easy targets, all falls under natural selection.

haha yes, this is exactly what they are. I agree that for shield users, the laser is very useful, but for ALL the other classes....using a laser is like painting a target in your forehead, very dumb thing to do ina game where walls can be shot through.

those videos prove my point.

This, they'll see you but if youre close quarters you should still win

There really isnt any diffrence here, shotgun or assault rifle. If you are using a laser and points it at a wall where the enemy can see it, they have the drop on you, period. doesnt matter if its a shotgun or not, close range or long range, they know where you are FIRST, and can pretty much predict where you are going to appear.

Im talking about giving away your own position because of the laser here, im not talking about the laser user actually getting the drop on someone else. Then yes, ofcourse a shotgun with a laser is good, because they dont know you are there.

Problem with laser is, you always have to keep that thing pointed away from walls where the enemy might be in a room, because it puts you at a serious disadvanatge when they see it, as the videos above showd, espeically the second one. " guys got murdered because they pointed the laser inside the room the defenders were, got rushed and died, didnt even know what hit them.

Ergo, using lasers is BAD, unless u always know where you are pointing it, nerfing your own movement in the process.
