Many players experience a random freeze in Rainbow Six Siege (R6S) where the game’s FPS drops to zero, and the only solution seems to be restarting the game. This issue is highly frustrating and disruptive to gameplay.

Solution:
I have found an easy and effective solution to this problem. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Open the Task Manager.
2. Go to the "Details" tab.
3. Find the R6S game executable file (exe), right-click on it, and select "Set Affinity."
4. Uncheck any two CPU cores of your choice and click "OK."
5. Immediately go back to "Set Affinity" and recheck all the CPU cores.

This workaround should resolve the freezing issue. Remember, if the game freezes again, repeat this process. This fix should keep the game running smoothly for several hours, which is much better than having the game freeze randomly and frequently.

it seems like the issue is with the game when it runs with all cpus ticked or cpu 0 running. I will update my message in an edit after playing for an hour to see if it is resolved.

i found this trick some time ago and it works for me. i need to check only one core, press ok and then reopen and check all again though. guess its the same anyways. usually i only have to do that once in a gaming session (always in the second game i play) therefore im fast doing it and only lose like 5-10 seconds of the droning/prep phase of the first round in the second game i play in that session.
