Yes but every online game has cheaters.

I haven't played for a month and I played daily but it was infested but they claimed about banning a bunch idk yet just got in again

Apparently according to several prominent streamers, Ubisoft updated the anti cheat. I played today and had relatively decent games, as one can in Siege. I'm a filthy casual and the matches felt fair. Haven't lately experienced players who never drone, use cams or ever have teammates on cams and just knows where everyone is and has the perfect prefire on everyone... Nobody wastes the hilarious cheats in casual, just the aimbot, wallhack types.

well, best indication is to follow well-known cheater forums and boards.. what I know for sure is, Ubisoft has by far the best "Anti-Cheat" solution, and I've been telling for years now this is the only viable solution.

QB has two points, first is to create several clients - and you need to understand how a cheat software works.. they hook into the game process and access game memory, however, they need to access address A or B, and what the cheat developer does is to reverse engineer the binary, or the game executable and find these addresses that will be needed for the cheat software - like for instance, in "what" address is the enemy list, where each enemy is positioned, etc.

so, creating several versions means a software developer would need to account for X versions or possible places this enemy list can be - which in theory, is just some extra work.. however, enters the killer: "TIME" - as the cheat developer needs time to find the information he or she wants to manipulate.

QB also now delivers each hour or two new versions with new memory positions - basically, they removed "TIME" from the equation, this mean, cheat developers won't have much time to create their cheats and when they do, they will only last a top duration of 2 hours until the next version or rotation comes live.. that system alone can be beaten, however, MOST cannot beat it.. and they can only beat at this time because Ubisoft is not really using a custom linker script to vastly rotate memory, they are rotating the encryption bits - and some cheat developers found a way around it, and they use for themselves mainly - they are not selling this method.

enter the secondary issue now, which is what being abused by cheat developers.. and that is called BattlEye.. you see, BE needs a stable client, meaning, memory will not change each two hours.. which is what all games do, and this is why there are cheaters on ALL games.

what cheat developers figured out was a way to, instead of receiving the QB and the build that rotates - which they cannot cheat - they instead found a way to "force" the update to always deliver the "BattlEye" version - which never changes, so extremely easy to cheat... and this is how most are cheating in R6.

also, Ubisoft has recently stated they are aware QB was decent when it was released, and the idea behind will work, however, they started modifying but they didn't deliver vast modifications in a random manner - which I reckon they will do soon.. and as soon that is in place, whoever bypass QB will not be able to bypass anymore.. and I can tell you, they decide to really pollute the binary in a random manner no cheat developer will be willing to work 24/7 for no results.

in addition, they MUST ditch BattlEye, simply because this is the backdoor now - its the way cheaters are cheating, and this is why pay to cheat is also still alive in this game.. in addition, there seems to also be cheats related to Direct3D, however, D3D is done by Microsoft and Ubisoft does not control its source.. this will be harder to fix, as they need to ditch D3D and use a custom Vulkan implementation they actually have source control.

in short, at the moment, world-wide speaking, R6 is the only possible FPS which has a chance to fix the cheating issue.. and no other can claim that, they all work using the same method as BE or EAC uses, and that method will never beat a DMA card or a VM with PCI pass.
I wouldn't be worried that much about people paying for cheat software. Just watching jinxy and his tournaments i'd be more worried about "xim users" or whatever that is.

Just googling and reading forums people write "DMA" alot and sorry that isn't you're average cheater using that to cheat. It requires second PC, the DMA card itself, firmware, and cheating subscriptions to cheat software.

Like previous user said nothing can really beat it only anti-cheat that is trying to really go to battle with those DMA users is valorant. The senior developer on twitter posts about it often.

absolute incorrect, I never said that.. what I said instead is, Valorant & Vanguard, which is Tencent capital is a "higher, intrusive form" of EAC, which is also owned by... Tencent.

software, of any kind, will never beat DMA - as it uses direct memory access, it doesn't pass thru the CPU hence the Anti Cheat which runs in a process will never be able to pick it up.. they can try to look up for well known hardware IDs, but it's extremely easy to bypass Vanguard.. in fact, it's a lot easier to just run in a VM with passthru, you can get all the code for free, all you need to do is be able to recompile the kvm so Vanguard will no longer detect as a "VM" - which is also easy to anyone who can use Google.

and if you didn't understood what I said, one more time.. I've been saying this for years now, maybe 10 years or more.. you cannot protect the process, final stop.. there is no question.

what we can do instead is, modify the process and the blocks which people inject into, in a manner they can no longer determine "where" to inject - and this will now trigger a process a cheat developer will need "TIME" to crack the software.. and before they can crack a version, you release another one, different.. and another, non-stop.

QB already does that, in a very simplistic way.. they prop it a little bit and no one will be able to bypass it, "IN TIME" - you see, people will always bypass, just not in time.

and at this moment cheaters in their grand majority cannot bypass QB - which is Ubisoft internal "anti-cheat" technique.. they instead request and force to get the BE version instead of the QB version as it's extremely easy to manipulate the BE version.. so basically the Anti-Cheat solution nowadays only exist to allow cheaters to actually CHEAT.

I didn't see any cheater in this game, you can give it a try :steamhappy::steamthumbsup:
No I barely see cheaters in this game...could be just a skill issue?

IOMMU was made to protect against DMA attacks, and there is hardware memory encryption available on some systems. But until those features are made mainstream like SSE2 we won't get anywhere.

played 7 games tonight; 1 game was fair and everyone seemed normal (even though my team lost and I wasn't very good) then... 6 games on the trot where there were "Gaming Chair" users who downloaded extra ram and bandwidth. They were on my team and opposition all night. - Game can still be quite fun for about 2-3 hours after ubi update the anti cheat and do a ban wave but then it's back to business as usual; people tracking through walls, 180 degree spin around and snap to headshot... usual, usual...

Yes. As you can see, I have almoist 800h of gameplay, and I quit, because every match, at least 1 player is a cheater. And they do nothing about it. Even in consoles there are ppl using wall hack. The situation is really insane, this game is dead af

All you are explaining here is people with good connections who are good at aiming, predicting where you are by sound, getting intel on your exact location etc...but here you are crying about how game after game, you get beat and now think everyone is cheating just because they are good.
