I spent a good number of hours getting 0 -2 kills until I was able to get the hang of the games MANY various strategies. Im not good with aim, so I compensate by creating sneak peaks and/or traps. to give me better odds.

Game requires that you learn the operators gadgets, the various map layouts and typical angles and peaks. Learning callouts and strategies that have good successes.

While I know some players won't agree with me on this one. I recommend that you focus on the journey more than the destination. While you ofc should have the goal to win the match. I'd focus more on, improving some aspect that you're weak at. Be it kills, angles or usage of gadget. This ofc is for when you play Standard of quickmatch. Don't recommend utilizing this mentality in ranked.

I can play a match where I had like 10 kills and still lost. I'd still feel good about it because I at least had one element down. then I'd reflect what could have been done better.
Trying to not take the game too serious and dare to experiment.

You play solo. my advice is to never expect anything from your team. I don't mean that in a negative sense. its more the mentality, better to prepare for the worst and hope for the best kinda deal. And every player is on their own development journey in this game, most do try their best from where they are at.

I recommend playing with friends, that way its a lot easier to communicate and play as a team. if you find Solo que is frustrating.

you just gotta play more. the more familiar you are with the maps, the more you know about how/where the opponents will approach the map and from there you can figure out ways to set up traps and ambush or flank them. if you have unlocked ranked, i suggest skipping quickplay entirely and just stick to ranked as you will face opponents of similar skill as you. quickplay is full of sweaty tryhards.

adhd version: practice a lot, play the game more, get familiar with the maps, and try to unlock ranked mode so you can play with opponents you actually are on the same level as.

Honestly, the majority of the maps in the game suck. Like on defense, you are more likely to win simply because the maps funnel players into corridor fights that favor the player having the better angle, which often times is the defense player. LIke I count 5 maps that I enjoy the most because the layout is balanced but functional; Clubhouse, Oregon, Canal, Chalet and Coastline. Rest of them, IMO, suck.

As for new player advice, go to the training area and familiarize yourself with the guns and improve your aim. When playing the game, use drones on attack and cams on defense. On attack, you have secondary gadgets that help in play. Often times when playing, being patient is better than rushing in. I've often times reaped a lot of benefits simply waiting before moving forward and have gotten kills that I would have instead died to. Check corners and aim somewhat relatively chest/head level and getting used to crouching helps a lot too. Crouching during a gunfight helps to off center your opponents aim. Gun attachments are actually interesting this season, so test out optimal loadouts for better play too. Fun tip: Jackal PDW with angle grip, laser sight, suppressor and ACOG is fun to play. Has some recoil but is controllable and pretty strong too.

Some maps playing attack is acceptable because the layouts are not bad. In a match with a strong roam heavy defense and lacking proper utility, it's an exercise in frustration. That has been my experience playing siege lately, it's not helped when none of my teammates communicate at all or give calls.
