Shield rework makes it easier to shoot feet?

first impressions of the shield rework and so far its pretty decent but ive noticed something odd, before when you crouched and stood still with your shield your feet were fully protected but now it looks like your character holds the shield an inch or so above the floor.

That does appear to be case for blitz and i know it's worse for fuze, havent tested much montagne to be sure how it is with him yet
