Deimos is the first op that truly doesn't align with the game.

Every other OP has a gadget or skillset that while fictional, has a believable in game reason for being part of their kit. That kit being purpose driven for anti terrorism missions.
Deimos whole thing is just "rainbow bad". And his entire motivation is completely misaligned with every other operator in the game. He's cool from a gameplay perspective but this is the first OP that is completely throwing out the whole purpose of the rainbow unit. I suspect more like him will come sadly.

im just saying, the game had a specific direction it was going in back in like years 1-7ish. Even through R6S's change from a tac swat shooter to a competitive e sport type game. Now it seems like they've abandoned that and just throw in anything.

ive never understood when people say this. Yea, Ubi is a corporation. They're gonna pander to as many people as possible. They also have women navy seals and elite soldiers as old as kaid and fat as gridlock. You really thought they wouldn't pander to the trans crowd? Lol.

you realise rainbow six is a game about elite soldiers from across the globe, right? There would reasonably be a lot of different ethnicities in the game. As far as trans people, there's only like 1 in the whole roster of like 70 playable characters.

ok so thats two out of 72 ops? Thats around three percent of the playable characters. Like i said, ubi is a corporation. Their gonna make the game appeal to as many people as possible to sell the game. I don't necessarily agree with it either, but thats just how it is. Rainbow six is the wrong game to play if your looking for hyper realism in every single part of the game. Arma is probably more for you if thats what you want.

Maybe Deimos is gonna be the start of Team Rainbow vs Terrorist Units. Frankly speaking, I'm getting tired of Team Rainbow beating the daylights out of each other through endless simulation training and would actually want enemy operators. Nighthaven almost gave that feeling. Deimos might be a nice push to the right direction.

Tbh non realistic ops started already with Ela Dokka etc... still better than Sens Tubarao and other modern ♥♥♥♥ they add these days.
Lore wise it went to ♥♥♥♥ when they cut out the white masks and made it about Harry and stadion, they tried to save it with Deimos and how it makes sense that he trains with them (via latest comic) but its all non logical mess tbh...
I doubt ubi will think of something smart, that will make all of this make sense.
Only thing that you can enjoy is thats its finally some edgy op after a long time
