Recruit in Ranked?

My friend has zero ops, he wants to get to level 50 and play ranked with recruit only but we dont know if it will even let him.

Yes it will give him recruit, but 99% sure he's going to get reported for toxicity for throwing and wanting just to play a character for the memes, cause thats how things are

i thought so, he came over from PS4 and isnt trying to spend any renown on a version he doesnt care about, we have a 5 stack already so were not reporting him

You cant play recruit in ranked, only in casual.

You can though. If you don't have any operators or all the operators you have got taken it will give you recruit.

So they added Operator Specialities to the game, does that mean it is almost impossible to be recruit only? I mean most are not even completable with recruit except for Lion, Ash, Hibana, Twitch, Fuze, and Tachanka (Jaeger is bugged a the moment so I cant see the challenges). For example, Lions challenges are "Walk or sprint 500 meters as an Attacker, Get 5 Headshots, and Eliminate 2 opponents through breakable surfaces" which are all things you will eventually do just by playing the game. Pretty sad if this is the case and you can't do recruit only in ranked forever
