I have seen a few mentions of this on the forums today, but nothing conclusive as of yet. It also doesn't appear to be a known issue.
To anyone experiencing this issue -
- Have you witnessed any other players / friends having a very loud mic?
- What mic are you using?
- How long have you been experiencing this issue?
- Do you have any other VOIP or overlay software running?
Thank you!

Hi.
I have witnessed many randos have this issue and we would usually just think it was their mic that was not great.
I am using the microphone for the Hyper X Cloud II's, expensive and high quality.
I have been experiencing this issue for a month or so now.
I can have discord running and my mic is fine on there, but in-game it seems to be utter ♥♥♥♥♥. It doesn't matter if I have any other VOIP. My in-game communication is completely fine for anything that isn't siege so I don't know what the problem could be.
:/
This is 100% an issue.
It seems to happen at random to random people.
It seems like it's the mic multiplier bugging out.
Giving the mic quality a loud and schratchy noise.
As Wiesell advised it would be great to know what the record level is set to.
Would it be possible to share screenshots showing audio settings?
Many thanks

Hi I have a blue yeti microphone. The volume (physically) on the mic is around half in siege I have it set to 25 in the voice chat record level. I have included a screenshot.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you!
As mentioned above, we are investigating reports of player's Voice Chat Volumes being set to 100% after each restart, leading in many players to complain of being startled by other players suddenly being very loud
Do you know if anyone who has noted your loud volume has found this has also been the case for them?
- Ubisoft Support
Yes, other people have also been telling me their mic sounds loud as well. I haven't played siege in the past few months because of the issue, I'm afraid I'll get banned for earraping when I'm not on purpose. I'll try turning my voice record level down and see if that fixes the issue, until next restart I suppose.
Hey Matt4499,
Thank you for getting back to us and confirming that!
Please keep an eye on the forums as we'll post updates on the investigation here and see if these issues are resolved along with the reset volume issue
If there's anything else we can help with, please let us know!
