Fire skin available to a newer player?

I never participated in any beta/alpha, yet I can unlock the skin through the rewards section. Is it supposed to be like this?

Anyone can get that skin iirc. It's the peacock skin that requires alpha/beta.

Maybe it used to be it. I played both betas and I got it when it was released. It said it was for the alpha / beta testers. The peacock was released shortly after the full release of the game, as they were thanking us for buying the game.

So I don't know if I'll get in trouble for saying this, but I found an easy workaround for fire skin, ghost recon skin and anything else under the rewards section. You still need the upoints, but if you wait til the server goes down(pretty much any day of the week) you can purchase the items when the server is down which doesn't do the necessary check, but gives you the item anyways. I got the game 2 months after it came out, and have never owed another ubi game, yet i have all 9 rewards unlocked. I don't feel that this is cheating the system, cause if it wasn't down all the time you wouldn't be able to do it, plus its all cosmetic items I don't use I'm just a completionist. The items all show I don't have the necessary thing to unlock them, but the purchases went thru anyways. I can post screen shots if necessary.

Well I had the fire skin for playing the beta, but managed to pick up the ghost recon/splinter cell ones without owning the games a few days after the black ice patch, all my friends were the same as well as the fire one. However after todays patch it seems to have gone back to normal, saying I need to own the games to get the skins, of course I still have those skins unlocked though, my friends also say its back to normal.

McGee how many rewards does it show you have unlocked. Mine still shows I don't have the necessary items to unlock them, but they have green check marks and are unlocked anyways, all 9 rewards show as being completed in my Uplay.

It's UBI so expect it to be broke, I can unlock the splintercell & ghost recon skins and I dont even own the games

when you say severs that are down, do you mean ubi’s severs or just Rainbow Six Siege’s severs.

Why you keep necroing a thread from 2016? The fire skin reward has been bugged for a long time ago and needs to be fixed again.
