Opinions on Ace
What's he generally considered? He's a great hard breacher and his gun is pretty fantastic. I don't usually like AKs in games.

By "generally considered" do you mean his role? If so, he is definitely considered a hard breacher!

And yeah! The AK12 is probably my favorite gun, and arguably the best gun in-game.

Way too over-tuned. The only things he's missing are frags and a secondary shotgun/MP. I literally can't think of a single situation where a team composition wouldn't immensely benefit from bringing him; you get hard breach, gadget destruction, smokes, AND the best rifle in the game all on one operator. He's like Zofia/Ash/Hibana all rolled into one.

Really makes you wonder why they thought he'd be a suitable addition to the game right after taking utility from Buck and Mozzie because they were "too versatile."

Power creep at is finest

Pretty much a better version of Hibana.

They might be thinking into shafting the Ak-12 and thus nerfing Fuze in the crossfire as an acceptable casualty.

So is there any actual reasons why they reuse weapons aside from laziness?

Im sure members of the community would be more than happy to model the weapons, even if it was a variant of an existing weapon. Such as Mavericks 1911 tactical

Statistic wise the AK-12, it's the best assault rifle in the game in dmg drop off, dps and overall a pretty easy to learn recoil pattern.

It was 'balanced' due being locked behind a 3 armor operator with a mediocre - okaish type of gadget, that works against individuals with very low amount of map awareness (newbies) or new players to the fps genre.

Well they could take assets & weapons from ghost recon wildlands, it's one of their other franchises.

Edit: also wildlands & siege use the same engine, the Anvil NEXT 2.0 engine.

For example the super shorty that Mozzie & Gridlock got was from Ghost Recon Wildlands...

Edit 2: That video isn't up to date regarding all the new weapons wildlands added later on, during the game life span / support from the devs.

My opinion, they made him look as goofy as possible to sell cosmetics.

So... Ubisoft has dozens more weapons ALREADY LICENSED AND MODELED and they choose not to add them in Siege because: ??

The new win delta showed that he is the most used hard breacher and the best (according to W/L ratio) in less than 2months of his release! That surely means he is way over-tuned compared to other hard breachers, I don't see a reason to bring Thermite and Hibana is most situations now, Ace is the best defintion of power creep, he has the best weapon in the game, best hard breaching gadget that has the largest breach potential and is almost untrickable with Bandit or Kaid, and he also has Smokes. Why would you bring Hibana or Thermite?

thermite blows up a large area allowing you to spread after opening it and the ace selmas take time to slowly go down

My hunch is, Ubi corporation side focus it's resources on the marketing, PR & MTX (cosmetics & character design) rather than software developers & QA teams.

But I could be wrong, since Ubi hasn't made a public statement nor any disclosure about what are their resources put into (only exception being the six invitational, when they do tell us about general game mechanics / features that should be added soon™ & the road map). From time to time, after x amounts of months we get some info about what is coming next (if it isn't leaked 1st) and what they're trying to fix.

So I don't blame the R6S devs, but rather I blame the Ubi executives / suits / corporate side of things.

The issue with ace is that he can multiple SELMA's at the same time, Ace can counter both Kaid bandit tricking with nothing but using 2 SELMA's on 2 seperate walls, while Thermite must have really good game sense to counter them. If Ace use all of his SELMA's then he will open more space than Themite can with his 2 charges which is insane considering his loadout.

On Blitzkrieg executes / push / strats Thermite is the fastest and most efficient hard breacher, if he doesn't get killed neither impact tricked nor bandit / kaid tricked. Ace gadget is louder and bit slower, can be destroyed & grabbed by Jager ADS & Wamai Magnets, those are his gadget downside.

Hibana is still more useful than Ace regarding reinforced hatches, pocket smg and she's 3 speed. Those are the only advantages she got over Ace.

Still Ace got a general stronger gadget than most of the other hard breachers, and a way stronger kit; he's only missing being a 3 speed and frag nades to be kinda busted like Melusi, lol.
