This right here further points towards a false positive, them already having malware that tried to download more malware, or a clever hacker intercepting their download and injecting files into it. I for one am leaning towards false positive since they use windows defender for their antivirus. Seriously OP go download one of the thousands of free anti-virus programs that work a ton better.
i knew that but ill give any development team the benifit of a doubt till i see the finished product...in this case, well we all know how that worked out...lol.....i was really hoping for a alone in the dark new nightmare type of game...sucks it wasnt.
Thank you for the update.
Good to hear!
I believe if it was a malware already stored in someone's PC it wouldnt alert a malware ONLY WHEND DOWNLOADING R6:SIEGE.
Consider that one person do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of downloads a day, and Steam itself updates another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of games per day. Tell me the odds of this happening for so many rainbow six owners?
I don't mean to offend but if you just think a little you will find out that your theory is "illuminati confirmed" kind of crap.
This would be too much coincidence and in IT things just don't happen by chance, and if still you want to consider the size of the PC R6 player base (6k worldwide per day), add the factor that it only happened in the first hour of the update release, You cant get enough people to believe that such thing is just coincidence.

I still think this will come back as a false positive found by Defender.
Also that screenshot doesnt show that its Rainbow 6 Siege with the virus, it just shows it found , where does it mention the game in the actual screen ?
Its either OP troll (bad taste one) or Defender is useless.
A troll would.
Its either
1) OP troll and sad attempt at joke.
2) Something OP end that has found the virus somewhere else in his system (screenshot doesnt show ANY proof its linked to Siege)
3) False Positive.
Its one of the above.
It will probably end up being the above, im giving OP the benefit of the doubt.
You need to be 100% sure with proper proof before spouting off major headline threads like this.
I have only seen 2 or 3 people say they had this happen to them, at least in the steam forums. So you referencing the total player base doesn't make your argument more valid. Where are these so called statistics of more than just these 2 to 3 people having this issue? Lets not forget we got a literally response from the dev stating they found nothing. So yes I can believe it just coincedence because I don't even see a large number people responding to this thread saying they had this issue. In fact more people are saying they didnt. So why don't you go get your "statistics" straight and do a little research into what some hacks are capapble of, like a timed setoff.
I can assure you he isnt talking to you.
Thank you
