Your DISPLAYED RANK is not the same as your HIDDEN ACTUAL MMR.
You can have an mmr of a champion, but your displayed rank can be anything from copper to the champion rank, it doesn't mean anything. Whether you enjoy the new ranked or not, for the most part the matches are ""mostly"" fair and not that different from 1.0
Do I like the changes? No, not really, I think it creates confusion and makes it harder to find teammates. However saying that "Uhh Im Copper but I play against Plat" is just simply an uninformed take...
I believe this is what most people call, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ matchmaking. People grind for a rank, if they're copper playing against plat, and should be plat, then whats going to happen? You're gonna stay copper because you are playing at your level, which means you win some, you lose some. Hidden MMR as bad as 2.0 has been dropped by every other dev for a reason. I'ts ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid.
I've met ♥♥♥♥ players in high ranks and good players in low ranks, from day 1. Was actually optimistic about a new ranked model but this is even less relevant than the old one, now you get a free pass even, based on last season's rank.
Nerds should do more sports, is my conclusion. They overcomplicated this to the point where it's completely useles, and really, it's not that hard making a proper ranking system so it's quite embarassing how badly they've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ this up.
