R6 Drops CPU frequency to stock
Hi everyone!

I am writing because I noticed a crazy behaviour when opening R6 from Steam, independently from the engine (DX11 or Vulkan). I have an i7 13700K and an MSI Z690 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR5 (XMP enabled and CPU Boost disabled). When I'm using the PC with other games/other tasks the CPU stays rock solid at 5.2/5.3 GHz, but when I open the game it locks at 3.40/50/60 GHz (basically stock). I already fixed a recent stuttering problem while gaming and now I notice this, only ever happening on R6. I'm honestly out of patience.

Hope you can help me in some ways, thank you in advance.

Power Plan is Ultimate Perfomance Profile (custom). CPU runs stock turbo even if CPU Boost is disabled, that function is optional. The system is working and stock OCd as expected when R6 is not running or has not been started yet.

i bet you have MSI center installed, please uninstall that crap and restart your pc

He might be right.
I hope is not a chipset driver that got installed with windows update.
Make sure EIST is enabled and Intel speed SHIFT Disabled also C-State Disabled.
If you can and have the CPU frequency in the power plan try playing with that to as you said is custom.
Also lets hope your thermal is fine to but bet you have water cooling.

I actually had that crap installed just for RGBs but yeah, I uninstalled it even before checking on this thread as I was suspecting something. Removing MSI Center and reinstalling the game was the fix for me.

Also thank you for all the advice, as I don't have these settings modified in the BIOS yet and yes, I have a 360mm AIO so no thermal problems at all.
