Game freezes for 5 seconds during games

Sometimes it's fine but it's pretty agitating when it freezes it's like every minute and for around 5 seconds which either gets me killed or slows me down. I turned graphics settings down and it still hasn't helped, what's the cause of this it's getting pretty annoying now been dealing with it for the past couple weeks. Any suggestions?

It’s happening to me too. Are you seeing what the bottom right of the screen is telling you when it happens?

Trust me it’s just this game and the servers. I don’t have issues in any other online games.

guaranteed temporary fix: restart the game and hope it stops freezing for a few matches

possible temporary fix: go to task manager, go into details, find RainbowSix.exe, right click and click on affinity, uncheck all but 1 processor, click ok, click on set affinity again and re-select all and click ok, now hope ti stays fixed for a while

the game started doing that since last summer mute protocol update like i even installed new ram and didnt do ♥♥♥♥ so congrats ubisoft servers

I tried doing that method earlier on, i seen a post on reddit about it but it still persisted after i tried it, so i seem to be all out of options for now. Thank you for the suggestion though.

I had the same issue but i did uninstall the HD Texture pack....when it was installed i had the same issue as you
I only have a weird mouse input lag only issue this year that i cant fix

It also happened to me but what i found out my PC was over heating a lot so i just added some fans and stuff and i fixed it

This has been an issue for about a year, Ubisoft support had commented they were investigating it on an official thread. They've confirmed the issue exists but, again, they confirmed this a year ago. I think we're on a year and six months where this issue is still prevalent. It's ridiculous.

Well i'm glad it's not just me at least, some games it's completely fine but i'm too scared to play ranked incase it acts up and i end up dropping points because of the dumb glitch, i've been having to stick to quick play & unranked so i don't risk losing anything.

Yeah, it's a decent handful of people. You can see some discussions here and there as well as the official threads. It's a "Top priority" investigation but it's been around for a while. I haven't played in months, which is irritating given how much money I've dumped into the game. Typical EA thing and we won't get compensated for their failure.

Me and my friends have the same problem, you can solve the problem for the duration on a game or a few games if you are lucky. to fix it temporary go in Task Manager, find R6 right click on it select "go to details", right click on "RainbowSix.exe" select "Set Affinity" disable every CPU but CPU 1, press "Ok" and after that reactivate all the CPUs. It solves the problem for the duration of the game.

Turn off windows virtual machine.
