i have a problem differentiating between friend and foe

Take a nice short look on who you're with before match starts. Helps a bit. Then not spamming the fire button on everything that moves would help a lot afterwards. And once you die enough times, you'll be able to tell who's friend or foe by the difference of player characters who's looking at you and looking away from you during the match.

Operator outline and icon, turn them on. Those are supposed to help differentiate your teammates from enemies. If you dont see an icon on a model, its a bad guy. This will cause some issues where an friendly is behind a wall and an enemy is in the room with you and you can't differentiate them from your teammate but that's rare. It also helps to get used to the appearances of the various operator models to know who is who, though the operator skin situation does make that harder.
