Why am I getting put against plats in casual quick match?

Is there a reason why I'm getting put against high ranked players all the time now in casual quickmatch?

Actually nothing will happen there. The developement of the game is actually one of the worst ive seen over years.
Also, do you think the devs care? Ive seen like the exact answers by Ubi on the same topics times ago (example UbiYubble 3 months ago: https://devtrackers.gg/r6-siege/p/b128fd58-unranked-vs-platinum-in-quick-pls-fix-matchmaking). Nothing will happen!
My friends and me usually get destroyed by plats and golds in casual (we never play ranked). We are like true silvers around lvl 50-100, dont know the maps and so on. So the game constantly gives us gold/plats around lvl 200+ camping the spawn or weirdest angles in history.

The game's matchmaking has been awful since ages and will be like that in the future

I dont know if it means im doing better or if the matchmaking is doing worse. Used to be id get matched with not that good of players, now its almost always plats. About makes me just want to throw a good 100 games so I don't have to do a line of coke before playing.

You don't need a rank in Quick Match in order to play against other players who have ranks. Those ranks only matter in Ranked. The Quick Match MMR, however, is a different story. A player can be Gold, Plat, Diamond, and still have the casual MMR of someone who's never played Ranked.

It must really suck to be what seems like the only ubisoft employee on these forums, that being said I have to speak up about matchmaking in this game the smurfing problem in particular. I've seen you on other forums saying you've brought it up with the team but it really is a game breaking issue. I've seen an ash main in Quick play level 40 with a 76% headshot ratio with diamond level movement just ruin the game for everyone, im a pretty decent player but these people i play with in Quick play some time are just golds who stand no chance. Please this has to be addressed now instead of later for the long term survival of this game, I'm trying to get my brother into it and we vs plat 3 and higher daily and smurfs galore. Again sorry you have to deal with all these people on the forums but it's a big issue

Casual (Quick Match) has its own separate MMR system. When encountering Plat players in the Casual playlist, it's possible that player's Casual MMR is within 1,000 of yours.

We've let the dev team know how the community feels about the current state of Casual matchmaking. I don't have any updates at this time.

Yeah, I believe that this type of matchmaking isn't that great too be honest with you. It's like COD Warzone where their matchmaking has SBMM except here, you need to lose a couple of times to get easy enemies. The system is just dumb since winning a lot equate to getting very good enemies. Just pure winning a lot even being a silver. Why not do level matchmaking? Wouldn't it be appropriate? Or even a casual matchmaking that also sees your ranked rank would be nice to be tried. It's not that people sweat in casual, but it's that people are mismatched in casual. I'm fine people sweating in casual, it's their way of doing things but if that we're because of them fighting people way above their ranks, that shouldn't happen.

The real problem is smurfing, hidden MMR has been in casual for a long time, but smurfing has raised the skillcap of casual to a ridiculous degree since like Shadow Legacy. There's cheaters too leveling new accounts, but that's harder to prove. I don't think we should punish people who are high ranked who just want to unwind and play casual, if you do, guess what they'll do, just have incentive to jump on a smurf. We want people to have incentive to play on their mains.

I also think the season long battlepasses encourages people to try much harder to win, some people prefer to grind battlepasses in casual where games are faster. And these people probably want to grind out battlepasses on multiple accounts, so you're facing waves of alts trying to get those precious black ice duplicates on multiple accounts.
