Stop letting Defenders outside
It's clear from the systems in place that you don't want them to go outside. The problem is, it's a broken system.

I'm not alone in the players that have been killed by Defenders getting outside and killing us before it marks them. Because not only does it give the two second warning, but it also has quite a bit of a delay before it registers the defenders as outside (which is more than enough time for say, a Bandit to hop outside, pick off a rapeling Attacker, and then head back in while being marked for a short amount of time.

And in some maps, it can create a huge advantage for the Defenders. On the Yacht, for instance, the defenders already have the high ground over the Attackers, and can easily combine this and headglitching to take out quite a few of the attackers.

Or Kanal, which is similar, they can get on to the roof of the Control Center building, and again, have high ground over the attackers.

And like I said earlier, it's clear you don't want them outside. So either don't let them leave the structures at all, or kill them if they do (like how it is in Terrorist Hunt)

I think they should have Snipers outside (either Dead Players spawning as them or AI controlled ones) but give the Defender going outside fair warning they are about to be shot by one of these with some kind of Camera effect that appears in the top right corner of their screen with the Snipers view of them.

That sounds like a great idea.

Oyyyyy that's a good idea

Oh i agree with the snipers. I was killed more than once by this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so i think that an AI sniper which would kill the enemy players once they go outside for a long time would make it much easier.

I do have to say that i did run outside more than once when i knew where the enemy was since i saw them on the cameras. Does that count?

I say they should put snipers all around the building so if a "defender" goes out the sniper would kill him after 2 seconds. Either that or make all walls/barricades that lead outside unbreakable or maintain that red wall-thing ( the one that exists in the preparation phase to prevent the defenders from going outside ). I'm so sick and tired of the pseudo-defenders. I want proper defenders who defend not charge. Last time I checked the ones who are supposed to charge are the attackers, not the other way around.

Simply put, people who get killed by defenders rushing outside are IDIOTS who deserve to get killed. I was playing ranked in the jet map yesterday and in three rounds in a row the same defender managed to knock out the same one or two attackers who were caught unaware. Did I blame the defender, the game or my stupid teammates? I blamed my stupid teammates.
Edit: The attackers ALWAYS have an edge in those situations because of their superior rifles and better view of the situation.

I wouldn't go that far, but yes, it's a valid tactic. you can't expect me to sit around while blackbeard is on a window, if I can flank him by going for a risky outside roam.

I think the best solution is a transparent barrier which will remain in place after the preparation phase. It will prevent defenders going outside of the building while at the same time not penalising the defenders.
Of course, the transparent barriers can be deactivated if it's hostage and the hostage has been taken by the attackers.

I don't think defenders leaving the building is the meta for dealing with Blackbeard, since it's BS. You kill Blackbeard by shooting his torso, not his head.
I was pissed enough when defenders started killing attackers outside, but I think it got worse when Frost and Valkyrie were introduced with their shotguns. Murderholes (I think that's now the term) are clear giveaways, someone at a door waiting for an attacker to rapell in order to score an easy kill is a little less fair, especially if attackers aren't exactly supposed to be defending the outside of the building.

Plane is annoying when the defenders just congregate around a door, and yes, I know, there are several entry points, but they are limited and the upper hand in terms of assault rifles is undermined when there are OHK headshots in this game and weapons such as the MP5, UMP and the Patchett are unbelieveably accurate. Too many times I've seen Rook or Doc snipe with a MP5 and an ACOG.

I think the Sniper solution solves the problem in a balanced way, if a defender wants to run around outside they can, but at great risk.

The Plane Map is probably one of the worst maps for defenders going outside, i've seen teams wiped by them just running to the top of the big stairsets and throwing C4 down and shooting the attackers.

Ehh... quite the opposite, actually. They added a system that spots players going outside instead of outright killing them like it's done in defense on Terrorist Hunt, which shows they actually don't want to punish too much defenders that take such an action. They themselves already specified previously that they consider it an actual valid tactic, hence why they tried to enhance the cover that's available outside of actual buildings.

There's nothing broken here, it's merely a gameplay mechanic. Whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant, you can either adapt over it or simply leave the game; your choice.

If we wanted to prevent players from going outside we could. We are happy with the current set up though. It adds a different dynamic to the game play, and requires Attackers to always be vigilant.
powthe56 May 24, 2016 @ 7:23am
Actually, defenders who go outside(rushers) and get a kill on you just shows that you weren't vigilant enough to be wary of the windows.

Because the job of the defenders is in their name, to defend, they are giving the attackers a HUGE advantage if they get killed, as now the defending team is 1 man down.

However, if they do manage to get the kill, they have made it easier for the attackers to slip up.

Basically, its a high risk, high reward system

Do the Sniper thing, you know you want to.

I might be the only one here to defend this.
Every player of no matter which team should go anywhere he wants. If Defenders want to go outside, let them go outside. You need to expect this. Keep it like it is, if you ask me you can even remove the "Enemy outside" notification along with the reduced view effect. I don't care. It's realistic, point.
