Opens then closes

Both Uplay and Steam version of the game just open the game window and close straight away. Ive verified files, admin check, all the usual steps but nothing fixes it. This also happened in the last free to play weekend.

Any ideas on a fix?

my game is doing this as well. when i click "Play Game" it opens the Uplay and then immediately closes Uplay and no game is running.
the "Rainbow Six Siege - Running" status in my library goes away as well when this happens.

Try renaming your GameSettings.ini file:
C:\Users\[yourusername]\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\[longstringofcharacters]\GameSettings.ini

i can recommend verifying the game cache, did it twice and its working for me, good luck with finding a fix

Try to verify integrity of files to see if that helps
but first delete your gamesettings.ini and the Battleye folder in the Root of Rainbow Six

you can find the gamefiles.ini in documents -> my games -> Rainbow Six - Siege -> bunch of letters and numbers -> gamesettings.ini

same happened to me, my fix was turn off the antivirus when i start, and play the game.
if u havea av try turn it off

honestly it works, i use nod32 av. dont believe me? check the steam support tab for steam not opening/running, and it says the av doesnt work well with steam at ALL.



also the vac was cheat enguine running in the background after closing, idc tho, most games dont use vac
