How does Lion's gadget work?

It's ok, that it detects the enemy movement during the scan and he has 3 of it, but sometimes I'm lauching the scan it shows nothing. Is it normal? What do I do wrong?

It's basically red light green light. If defenders aren't in immediate danger they will just stand still. His gadget is situational, you won't always get the ping.

They have to be moving during the usage of the ability.

When you activate Lion scan it makes a long counting 'Clock' sound that every enemy can hear and at the end the scanning 'DUUMM' sound is when it starts to scan for MOVING players.

Enemies can decide whether to freeze or move and get pined on the scanning phase.

At the top mid shows you a clock of the pre-activation warning and the actual activation phase.

I love that you already answered it yourself.

It detects movement, if someone is still there's no detection.
It's best used when you're planting or have planted the bomb / securing the objective to either slow down their push or know where they're pushing from.
