Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Drops to 30 fps
Well when the Vsync is enabled the fps drops and gets stuck at 30 in certain situations and NO i'm not using 2 frame Vsync. Enabled triple buffering in Nvidia CP and tried to force Vsync via it instead of the in-built one but still it persists.

Using Adaptive Vsync helps a bit, but half of the time the tearing occurs cuz fps will be sometimes 55~59 for me. I can't stand this damn tearing.

its the systeem...you are pretty much going to have lower a ton of settings in the graphic options...turn off bloom and the other for sure...lighting and shadows are not your friend with that system...maybe by tweaking the graphics settings, you might find the sweet spot...i hope so...this game is sweet.

Nah its not the problem with the system its just the vsync itself, the triple buffering not included and we cant force from nvidia cp either, because with it turned off I get 50~60 fps all the time. I play at medium settings 1.3GB vram usage approx

nvidia cpanel triple buffering is OpenGL only that's why it doesn't work in dx titles.

Unless you are playing PvE, you are at a disadvantage if you use vsync anyways, so just disable it, and give it an hour or so. Your eyes will adapt and you won't notice tearing anymore.

It's the same with sub 60 fps gaming. if you constantly game at 60+fps, even 55 fps will feel super laggy at first. your brain adapts, it will to tearing as well.

Are you alt-tabbing, OP? I've noticed if I alt tab out for some reason then alt tab back in my fps drops to 50% of normal. If I do it again my fps bounces back up.

It's a real headache when I forget to set the windows key lock on my keyboard and accedentally hit the key. It automatically alt-tabs and brings up the start menu. :/

I have same prob. Getting 60fps solid on Solo and 30fps solid on Multiplayer. Only not all the time. Is it possible that there are servers that are limiting it?

Ok I've sussed it. Turn off vsync in game and turn it on in the nvidia control panel. 60 fps solid in everything now! This is the only game I have to do this with, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UBICRAP!

Scrap that. Didnt fix it. Seems it drops to 30fps when you're playing with someone who cant handle 60fps.

That makes no sense. FPS is handled client side. Game communication is server side and has no impact on FPS.

Server side affects ping or connection to the servers.

turn off multi sampling antialiasing , refelctions maximum to medium, ambiten occlusion off or ssao, depth of field - lens and bloom = off. also turn off post processing antialiasing. ( i usualy play without vsync because of the input lag that can give it to your mouse )
if vsync is well implemented it should not cost you frames but only then when your hardware is powerful enough not to drop under 60 or vsync can make your fps force to 30 otherwise.

Adaptive vsync will turn vsync automaticly off to maintain your fps cause its better to have tearing as instead get dropped to 30.

Yea tried it but i'm so used to playing games @ 60 fps that I hate playing even if drops below 55 fps lol. But I can play some games at really low fps like 25~30 fps such as Rise of Tomb Raider, Just cause 3, Crysis, Watch_Dogs, etc but I hate playing games such as Skyrim, Borderlands, etc. Its probably due to motion blur, which smooths the lag between frames.

Well in most of the games when alt-tabbed the triple buffer kicks and maintains stable frame rates (such as Batman Arkham Origins, cant recall other games atm) but it doesnt work for this game cuz i tried it many times, still gets stuck at 30 fps.

Yeah using Adaptive Vsync atm, seem the only better option than turning Vsync off.
