Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Starter vs Normal
So i bought starter edition today and encouraged 2 of my friends to buy it as well.
Now my friend who has to have everything bought the main game plus gold skins (he always has to have the better thing )
To his sadness when he logged on he had no operators to play as. is this is a bug in his game? or is this a massive flaw in the system.
Did i just get a better deal by buying the starter edition? (would be quite funny )

You both still have to unlock the operators, it's not a bug. The difference is that he will unlock them at a much faster rate than you.

I recommend doing the single player situations, they give a good amount of renown in a short time to unlock some operators quickly.

If you buy the standard edition, you start with zero operators. The more operators you buy in a specific CTU, the more expensive the operators will get (500-1000-1500-2000), with the dlc operators costing 25000.

If you buy the starter edition, you will start with four operators and 600 r6 credits, which you can use to buy other operators (or other things). Though every standard operator costs 12500 renown, with dlc operators costing 25000.

So all in all, it's easier to unlock operators with the standard edition, but you get the same content.

This ^ Except he meant to say 12,500 renown not 125,000 renown.

The difference between the two is simple: Starter edition is a cheaper purchase, but you have to grind more to unlock normal operators. Standard edition is a more expensive purchase, but you barely have to work at all to get all standard operators unlocked.
I jsut bought standard for 15 bucks from instant gaming

(great site btw)

So For the most part its better to pay the extra $ to get the standard edition then the Starter one?
Well, how I see starter pack, you pay less to play more.
Starter Pack is only for those who like Grinding and the only way to stay interested in playing....
I mean if you have all the ops Unlock, the currency is just going to be used for Cosmetic and if you bought Season Pass just Cosmetic again for the currency and you'll lose interesting in playing.
Thanks for the help :)
Maybe you guys should read what you buy. Also, he decided to buy something different than you. That's his personal decision. Dont be jealous of him.
Where can I find standard edition. I bought it from Steam, It gave me starter. Where is normal???

I just can't believe this thread is still alive haha .
If I bought the starter edition, and I wanted to buy the standard edition, would the prices for the operators switch to the 500-200 renown? Would I still keep the operators that I unlocked?

I don't think you can upgrade the game for starter edition to standard edition. Though, if you buy the game agian on the same account you should still have the operators that you bought and the prices should go down.

you can also buy ingame credits and buy the operators you want that way but I think it's about 3 dollars pr. standard operator that way.
