Lower FPS than expected
So a while back I bough myself a GTX 1080TI and have been happily gaming with it. Then 2 days ago I go online just to watch some benchmarks for some GPUs and I come across a R6 becnhmark for the 1080TI. In the benchmark the guy is getting 220+ FPS while I struggle to keep over 144 FPS. Then I copy his exact settings and still can't hit 200(was hitting around 160)

My specs:
CPU= Ryzen 5 3600x @ 3.8 GHz
Cooler= Stock Wraith Spire
GPU= Zotac Gtx 1080 ti
RAM= 16GB G.Skill RGB DDR4 @ 3200 MHz Dual Channel
Mobo= Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro
SSD= Samsung 970 Evo
HDD= WD Blue 1TB
PSU= 550W CoolerMaster MWE

His PC specs:

MB: MSI Z370 SLI PLUS
CPU: Intel Core i7 8700k@5.1Ghz/5Ghz Cache - 1.400v
COOLER: FD Celsius S36
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Ti Armor + Morpheus II @XOC Bios
RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage 2x8GB DDR4 3200Mhz
SSD: ADATA SP550 120GB
HDD: WD Green 1TB
PSU: Seasonic Focus PLUS 1000 Gold

Link to the becnhmark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OPhTPwfIaE&t=0s

There was also other bemchmarks that I checked were in one a guy a normal 1080 non ti but could still hit 200 I'm not getting something here any help would be appreciated.

Note: I do have latest drivers on everything

Every System has different Chip Sets

You can't just copy some settings and it will work.
You will need to figure out the settings for your System.
Going ahead step by step and test every change.
Just watch some Videos on Youtube How to Overclock

I know that but he cant have that many more frames with just an OC'd GPU. There has to be something else at play here.

Is your friend running the DX11 game or the Vulkan game? Vulkan might get you higher frames

Weird, I get on avg 180 FPS with a Ryzen 3600 and 1070 ti with competitive settings (all on LOW except LOD, TAA with 100% res scale).

This game is very dependent on CPU.

He is using DX11 and so am I
Remember that with each patch the game runs worse.

Back in 2015 I had 6600k and gtx 1060 and I could play on high graphics and still be above 150+ FPS at all times, now I got a much beefier system and the FPS is similar or just slightly better.

ur CPU has lower giga hertz than him
r6 is based on CPU not GPU

As long as he's not at 100% CPU usage then hes not bottlenecked, wouldn't make enough of a difference

I just ran my setup though the benchmark on DX11, got around 190 FPS average on 1440p Ultra
6700k (stock)
RX5700 XT Mech OC
(Edit) Ran it again with Vulkan, getting 210 FPS average

Also just noticed that when playing on Ultra I get from 130-- 160 FPS and when I put setting down to medium I have from 140--170 is it just me or is that a small gain in fps?

Some people have reported getting better FPS if they uninstall the Ultra texture pack (if they're not using it) and stopping it from auto installing on the steam page

You guys both use the same GPU drivers?
