havent played it since and i wanna come back, is it less toxic and/or more fun now?

i used to play this game with my brother a lot but hes too good for a noob like me now so he doesnt wanna play with me, but i did have fun with this game for a while before idling bots and TKing started to be more common

The game is still as fun as it was in 2020 and even in first year.
Maybe even more so.

The problem is : The community is as toxic as ever, especially here on the forum. In game, it's a bit more chill and the anti TK make them think twice before trying that ♥♥♥♥.

To give you an actual answer from someone who has played the game since release. No, the game is not as fun since 2020 or any time before. The game has gotten progressively worse and continues on a downward spiral to eventually crash and burn. Hit reg somehow is worse than before, desync is also somehow still very prevalent, and the balancing is minimal if at all. I have been diamond for multiple seasons and even champion when they added it, This game has changed for the worst mostly, I will say that there are a lot of good changes but they are heavily outweighed by the bad. Id say its maybe fun with friends if you are just talking to each other and not actually playing the game. I have pretty much moved on from this trash heap of a game and play much better games ie. CS:GO, Subnautica, Elden Ring, Dark souls 3, The Forest, P.A.T, Monster Hunter Worlds, Risk of Rain 2, Blade and Sorcery, Beat Saber, Boneworks, Most Total Wars, hell even Civ 5 is far superior to this game. I know that these are mostly different genres but if a game is good enough it surpasses genre and you just rank the game among other great games that are fun and enjoyable to play. Anyways I've spent far too long writing this and im going to go to bed now. You can play or enjoy the game if you can but for me I simply cannot anymore without friends talking ♥♥♥♥ to each other and not even playing the game really. Thats just my two cents.

oh i play casually and never touched ranked so the reasons you specified are honestly things i have no idea about

The game got worse by a lot. There may still be fanboys loving the game, but it's no where near as good as it was before 2020.

The community is still toxic as ever. World peace will likely happen before the community gets any better because that's just how people are in online games especially the ones trying to be eSports, or on the internet in general. If you play to have fun regardless win or lose and ignore the other players, then you might still enjoy yourself if they don't tk you.

yeah i play this game casually mostly for fun and TKing and spawnpeeking were my main issues before i quit in like mid 2021, i just played 2 matches and there were no idling bots or spawnpeeking and 0 TKs, it was quite fun even tho im clearly not very skilled, hopefully it stays this way lol

Well lately the content has slowed down, but most long standing issues (balancing, bugs etc.) have been fixed (outside of audio which is broken to this day). There were lots of nice quality of life changes, they added some more customization options, overall I think the game has gotten a lot better.
Most stuff like toxicity can't really be ever solved, since it's the people and it's not as easy as doing a patch, but they are adding a reputation system which should help a little.

don't lie, you will be playing this game more, if you removed the game from your account entirely then i'd believe you. game is good, you just had your fun and are bowing out so you figured you would leave a comment to disparage people because you did the thing and don't like anymore so nobody else should either. That attitude is honestly toxic and i'm glad you are gone, we'll hold down the fort and keep playing while you try to get your rocks off on another game you like only to do the same thing when you leave that one too.

spawn peek death is fully preventable. drones have a purpose and you have 2 of them including the one when you spawn so dying to a broken open window or run-out is totally on you. everyone dies to it when they get too comfortable and don't check, that though is a mistake made by the player and not a issue in the game. As attacker you have advantage to check and then get a free kill in most cases if you just use your drone. spawn peaking for defenders is a gamble on if you are cutting corners on attack. use your drones and know your maps and you would be fine.

oh its less of the common spawn peeking you usually see, its defenders deliberately going outside to an open map and killing everyone before atkers even entered the building

Lmao I will never understand why people care what gender a pixel is either play the game or don't but to sit there and use this as your reason why the game is dying is just stupid it has about 60 to 70 thousand players on steam at its peak yeah not the same as it used to be but this game is still very much alive and people are still paying for stuff or else they would not keep putting out content. spawn peaking isn't as much as an issue as long as you actually take time to learn the game you want to play and not just walk up to the building like an idiot. Like others have said they have made really good quality of life changes. You can now use almost every scope on every op. They are finally adding new maps after updating a lot. Only thing is lmgs are kinda broken right now but they said eventually they will balance them. However the cons are they have somehow broken matchmaking again but that just seems to be ubisoft fix it then a few season later the bug might be back. I just think a lot of people got burnt out and now just decided to hate on the game

toxicity is about the same because the fundamental problem is the people. you have any popular online game accessible to kids, you get a large level of toxicity.

aside from that both modes got worse. in pvp, they emphasised it too much and turned it into a garbage e-sports game with 1000% cosmetics. so now you have a bunch of gay pride-like costume wearing operators going around the building shooting.

t-hunt got downgraded and a lot of us left
