Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Rainbow takes WAY too much RAM
My graphics settings are set on "high" just like my friends, but on my computer It takes 1.5 GB RAM and on their computer It takes only up to 500 RAM.
I have GTX 1060 and 4GB RAM.
Can somebody please explaing why is this happening?
(I'm getting a lot of lags because of this in the last few weeks.)

More textures with higher quality will cause this. It's not a new thing.

Anyways, Tomorrow I'll have 8GB RAM so this won't be an issue thank you for your help :)

if you are referring to video ram, it is because the game has to cache the textures into VRAM and then load them. The higher quality the textures and details, the more VRAM this requires. If you are referring to system RAM, well, you shouldnt be gaming with only 4GB anyways.

Yes I know 4GB is nothing in Gaming terms.
Tomorrow I will have 16 so this will never be an issue again

That ram it shows in game is only for the on-board ram on the card Im pretty sure.

1060 SC here with 3 gig and it takes about .950-1.15 gigs of my on board at medium settings. I could run on high, but my CPU is fairly old and could be better cooled, so it overheats sometimes even on medium.

I have 6 gigs and then the 3 built into the card.

TBH Ive been looking to upgrade my RAM, 6 gigs not including the card is pretty low these days. When I built my computer in like 2009 (thus the old CPU) 8gig was normal, I actually went kinda light on the ram at the time.

16 gig is what Id shoot for, if I had money, now.

Sry, just edited my other post after you replied, in relation to on board ram.

4 is very low.

By the time steam and Uplay are on, and the game is starting up, its running at 40% for me. That seems pretty insane tbh.
