Is Ubisoft restricting access to players with custom avatars?
I've had a custom avatar since 2 years ago and I couldn't connect to the server today. I could get on just fine about 12 hours ago. There wasn't much report of outages from many other people, the only thing I've found is a Ubisoft tweet removing custom avatars to be more "safe and inclusive" from 15 hours ago.

To say nothing of how contradictory that is, I feel like many players could play cause most players on Uplay doesn't have custom avatars thus could be a an unintentional or intentional screw up from Ubisoft.

And christ guys, if you're getting ratio'd so bad that you have to disable comments, maybe consider that it wasn't a good decision at all.

They're removing custom avatars? Really? Mine was always a huge part of my identity in Siege, more so than any skin. Well, if this was 4 years ago, I guess I'd be pissed, but nothing surprises me anymore with Ubisoft.

I'd say the game is dead, but at least I respect Siege, I don't respect Ubisoft, so I'll just leave a "dead company" remark instead.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Updating the system for it, huh? And how long's that going to take with Ubisoft? If it was just a basic update, they'd be doing it right now instead of a month. They're removing custom avatars as far as I'm concerned.

Hello everyone, thank you for your queries about custom avatars in our games, this is a change we are making to improve some of our account features for Ubisoft Accounts.

If you already have uploaded a custom avatar and it passes our terms of use for accounts, you will be unaffected. This is only for players trying to upload a custom avatar after June 6th.

To read more about this in detail, please see our forum post here >

I got banned from using my own avatar years ago despite not braking any TOS, when i asked which part of tos i broke they were vague af and it ended with support telling me that ubisoft can ban whatever they see fit even if it doesnt brake TOS.
And no i didnt have offensive avatar nor obscene one....just cute lady with bare shoulders .

Ubisoft Connect usernames are frequently offensive too, has Ubisoft considered replacing them with a set of pre-defined safe usernames?

Sorry to hear that your avatar was banned. I am afraid we are unable to overturn bans once an appeal has been made.

I am afraid we are not at liberty to share details of our decision-making process.

We are happy to pass on any feedback you have though.

Thank you.

It's most likely what they will do, they just won't admit to it because they don't want backlash

Its October, and I come back to ask if they have done with their system update?
