Way to lock FPS?
My laptop runs R6S at 120 FPS what is plenty for me, but it’s really loud, is there a way to make R6S run at a constant rate of 60fps?

With your game closed obvioulsly
Go to C:\Users\"YourUsername"\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\"Random Number"

And open the GameSettings.ini

Under [DISPLAY] you'll find the fps limiter.

[DISPLAY]
;FPSLimit => Limit the game's fps. Minimum of 30fps. Anything below will disable the fps limit.
Brightness=75.000000
FPSLimit=60

Just change the number after FPSLimit= to your desired fps limit in this case 60.

Save and close.
There you go. Vsync not needed

Thanks to all of you, if one method doesn’t work I’ll try the other.

So I tried to find Gamesettings.ini, it appears if you download this game from Steam, that file doesn't exist. Unless I'm missing it in a different folder of Steam.

To clarify, I went to Documents/My Games and the game isn't there since it was downloaded from Steam.

You can go in the game files. There's a file called settings and in it there's an FPS cap setting.

Are you sure, you've checked "Read only" afterwards?
For ex., For MW2 (CoD 6), the modders can access those files, unless you make them read only. That shouldn't allow any further edits whatsoever.

For future editing, you'll have to uncheck it, apply, and edit it later, afterwards, otherwise you won't access the file with an option or permission to change it.

I actually figured it out. i didn't have it on read-only but if you save as instead of just saving it it works pretty well

If you save it as... ----, you'll create a new file.
I think, there may be some issues in the future with that, as the game will focus on the known, original, folder and file names.

But, that's just a speculation.
Anyways, that's a good thing. As long as it works out, then it's definitely a good thing.

The R6 file for Steam should be under OneDrive - Personal > Documents > My Games

May I ask why you would do it? Because even though your laptop has a 60hz screen, you would benefit from more FPS. Is it the heat or something?
