1440p 144hz vs 1080p 144Hz
Does anyone play at 1440p? Are there any downsides to it in a competitive game?

I have an RTX 2080 and so feel that going for 1080p 144hz wouldn't do it justice

Weird flex but okay

Jokes aside I have GTX 1080 TI and for some reason when I choose Ultra setting with 1440p 144hz even though the usage is even using half of my cards power I seem to get a noticeable difference in frames and it stutters here and there. So I stick to 1080p sure the game doesn't look as pretty as 1440p but it certainly plays smooth.

Some professional e-sports competitors do prefer lower resolution and graphics quality as they theoretically should be less distracted by the environmental details. I say it's really about personal preference, and from the looks of it you aren't exactly trying to get ahead in the professional leagues.

I don't really see a downside to going for 1440p, provided you can keep the fps high enough to benefit from the 144Hz, which 2080 should be able to handle.

I play with 1440p at 165Hz and it's great (2080 Ti in case you're wondering). I can understand the need to simplify your visuals to keep the focus where it needs to be for competitive play, but I see no reason going for a lower resolution because of this (unless you need to to get more fps of course)

Having a card that powerful and only using it for 1080p is a gigantic waste.

Get a 1440p 144hz with gysnc and you'll be gucci

I play at 1440p 144hz and its great. Theres certainly no downside to it. But the advantage of the added pixels is not nearly as good as in games like CSGO due to the significantly lower engagement range in siege.

1440p is pretty much 50% more pixels than 1080p, so make sure your GPU has the power that youre looking for. An RTX2080 should manage that, just fine.

Oh that's great then, I play alot more cs than siege anyway. Is your monitor 27"? I feel like 27" would be too large when sitting that close
