You can overclock your monitor to 75 hz. That's what I do. Feels much smoother than 60 fps.

how you overclock it ?
Go to your nvidia control panel, select manage resolution, and then click on create custom resolution. Then set your refresh rate to 75hz then save that profile. Then select that resolution profile and click apply.

That depends on the monitor itself.
Too many people are buying 144hz and even 240hz monitors with AWFUL displays.
Picture quality should always be priority with top notch color calibration.
Most monitors that support AMD FreeSync also support 72/75hz.

60hz is fine, however once you go 144hz, it is hard to come back and even harder to play other games that don't go above 27/30 frames (with dips below, too), like most old school consoles.
If you only play FPS games on PC and don't care about picture quality, and your budget isn't limited, go with a 144hz. It is smoother and it feels better for competitive games. Otherwise stick to 60hz for now if you plan on playing a broad range of games.

Just like overclocking CPUs and GPUs, they may fail. I think the chances of failure for a monitor. I think it's because how they are not really designed for overclocking.

I've been doing this for more than a year. Never had any problems.

It all depends on the monitor.

144hz minimum, 240hz if it can be acheived. There's no damn way I could ever compete at 60hz. You know all those people who say that HITREG isn't working I bet most of them are playing at 60hz. Cause when you watch it back in 140hz you can see every shot being missed. On their screen it appears as if they're connecting the shots and if you can't see where you're shooting then that hinders performance.
my monitor supports 75hz so i overclocked it

i can notice a minimal difference, feels good though.

its not needed but can give you a better gaming experience

Okay so coming from someone who played for years on a 60hz panel, then switched to a 144hz one - The difference is night and day and im much better on the 144hz one, along with the fact that its much easier on my eyes imo.
Its not necessary, unless you want to be really competitive, but its amazing regardless. Btw your (and mine!...) 1070 will run 100+fps just fine, you dont even need to get 144fps, just something over 90 and it will feel really, really smooth.

It's not "overclocking" because almost every display supports atleast 75hz lol.

uh i have 144hz and get over 500 fps, believe me when i say its hit reg. The problem is more likely the connection on the server end than on my end. Cause lately Ive had no issues but for the past week was having nothing but issues.

Yea I overclocked my monitor like Tengku for a few months now and it works good and a lot smoother than 60hz. However I think that even if you don't have the hardware to run it then it really doesn't matter unless u plan to go to platinum rank or something. If you have a higher refresh rate montitor then go for it 100%
