They're a pain in the ass, more than you'd imagine, like Torean said, word for word, it allows mediocre players to get higher ELOs than they deserve.
No-recoil, no-spread, fire rate, and other similar macros have been an issue in PvP FPSes for 10 years or more. They are not detected as software by anticheats, so the only solutions I can think of offhand are
-server-side detection for abnormal correction/absence of spray
-a system of reviewing players manually by spectating, though I doubt this is practical
-the ability to play on non-Ubi servers where server owners can add plugins to detect macros, or ban players manually
That's true. Might be an idea!
When you build a game off of E-Sports, you need to be prepared for those kinds of audiences, like macro users and various other cheaters.
I miss the fun and they made the game way too competitive outside of ranked.
Pretty much a guaranteed instakill.
Oh and I've not had a single MMR adjustment all season. Did they stop MMR adjustments, or did they just give up on anti-cheat alltogether? Because I've not seen as many cheats this season as previous ones, it's actually been good in that regard, but there's still been quite a few obvious ones so that's weird to me that I've not had a single one.
