Is there a point to using irons at all?

In most other games, using irons instead of scopes oftentimes reduces the ADS speed, increases mobility, etc.

Are the effects similar in Siege or is there no real reason to use ironsights?

sights don't affect ads time in siege, grips do, angle grip decrease ads time, go for it. sight gives you advantages over distance only.

diff sights on some guns can impact your ability to control recoils, so try them and see which one you prefers

There is only one single advantage you will get form using iron sights, but in over 2,5k hours i never got into a situation where i could use it:
When youre getting EMPed by thatcher, the sights picture gets disabled for something around 20 seconds. Ironsights dont have that problem.

Its really not worth it tho. MP7 is the only gun i use it, because it has only 1x sights anyways and looks nice.

Purely personal preference, i did use MP5K with irons and supressor for a while not that bad i just like reflex more

Iron Sights are for memes picks in most weapons, and in very few they're actually decent (MP7, ARX 200, MK 17 CQB, Ots-11, etc)

if you don't want to be forced to use 1.5x scopes on DMRs they are a good option
