Abandon sanction because the game dropped

I was playing through the SI event mode when the game dropped on the last round. When I got to the main menu, it wouldn't let me rejoin. A moment later it said I got a 30 minute ban for leaving the match!? WTF

Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, I think I'll play normal matches is there's a chance the game could randomly drop out and give a sanction.

I don't believe there was one. I was playing, the game simply dropped back to the main menu and I waited ages for the message to come up. The only thing I remember it saying was the sanction ban for 30 minutes. There was no way to rejoin.
