The abandoning penalty needs rethinking
I get it. Nobody wants people just up and leaving.

At the same time i'm currently locked from a match for at least thirty minutes (longer when you take into account i can't join a new match until the previous match ends) because i have to pick between staying in an unranked with a bunch of people screaming racial slurs left and right, stating "kill any n****r you see first" over mic spam, etc. While the opposing team were all the same clantag, putting me in an unsavory situation where i have to pick between tolerating that crap until the match ends or be locked out of playing for the thirty minute penalty AFTER the match ends, as well as take a renown penalty.

Seriously, why the hell should i have to play with racist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, getting steamrolled by some tryhard clan, or be punished for leaving.

First of all muting mic and chat for other people is a thing, and i'm pretty sure you get matched up with people of your same skill level so i don't know why you're complaining. Besides the 30 minute ban and renown penalty aren't that bad if you can just take an hour or so break and come back and have everything all good again.
No dev that has leaving penalties cares WHY you leave. They only care that you left in the first place. Riot (League of Legends) specifically states that leaving matches ruins games for others. Excuse me, but if there's people purposely ruining the match for others by smurfing, cheating, trolling, etc there's no way I would ever stay in the match.

They don't care that you're stuck in a severely lopsided match or that your team is racist. You leaving would ruin the fun for those people. How dare you not get enjoyment from that.

Don't worry, though. You can waste your time staying until the end of the match, report them for that behavior (at least the racists), and then hope something is done about it, they don't do that again, and/or you don't end up in another match with the same or similar conditions.

there is no proper solution for this, if they do tweaks, there will be trolls leaving matches just to ruin it for the rest of the team, what about searching for teammates that suits your needs and build a coordinated team? wait... wait, this could mean one gets pushed to develop social skills.

actually, a "proper solution" would be to set up a system based around repeated activity. If someone only leaves a match because of circumstances like, well, my above situation. They aren't likely to run into it often. So. A "probationary" period would be the solution. If someone leaves a match, start an unseen 24 hour timer, which if they leave another match would lead to the 30 minute ban.

I'm not even against the fact i can't go into another match while the match i left is still going. fair enough on that one, but the added timer after the fact is a real hassle, and it's not a situation that only fits this very obscure scenario. You can be locked out of playing the game for 30 minutes because your power went out for five seconds before your match ends. Because you "abandoned the match" and said match finishes, you still count as someone who abandoned.

To add to it, the current system basically is almost worse than trolls leaving a match, because in this case, a player can be stuck in a match with a bunch of trolls instead, and they can't leave because doing so hurts THEM not the trolls. As for "developing social skills" i have friends, most of which despise FPS games and prefer isometric RPGs. Not exactly the types of people you can convince to hop on and learn this game.

but quite amusing some just try everything and grab even the smallest straw just not to have to find people they might be much more successful with than roaming like lone stray dogs.

You'd have a point if this were ranked, but i'm not even playing ranked. This stuff affects casual. I already know i don't have the friends to go into ranked, which is why i stay in casual. Y'know. The mode in which tactics aren't meant to be vital, because you're suppossed to be playing for fun? Y'know, that thing you can't do when any black operator is off limits because you might be killed by your own team, and people on mics are spouting slurs constantly?

Yes. grasping at straws. Indeed.
