Blackbeard Rework Idea: Instead of a Ballistic Face Shield which blocks headshots, give him a ballistic body armor.

Pretty self explanatory. He should get 2 or a single vest which he can wear to get additional 50 HP, unlike Rook vests which just decrease the damage received, these should be able to tank few body shots, give an opportunity to survive Nitro cells/EDD's/impacts. Just the like the face shield it will crack down after getting all of its health drained.

At the moment, he basically does nothing. Unless you got a crazy slow firing gun, its going to shred right through his shield.

Yeah, Frost, Pulse/Castle, Cav's SMG and Kaid are somewhat weak to his shield for having low rof's. His shield will be a puny 20HP here soon or already is? I forget but his main MK17 now does 40 dmg for how slow it fires.

Atm he does have the 20 hp shield, so instead of nerfing him even more he should be fully reworked.

My suggestion is the "original" pre release Blackbeard! The one with metal shield, that hinders his FoV but gives him protection in his shoulders a very little of his face (probably a bit of his cheeks and that's it, the rest of his face is not protected).

Honestly, he could be Rook 2.0. He could drop a vest plates for his team( or a universal activation of his gadget will give each attack operator a button to install a vest plate for themselves) which would give 25-40hp.. So people don't have to waste time walking around the map to get it. Kinda like how Finka gives everyone her buff instantly.

if he can give himself or even worse teammates a vest that gives 25-40hp we may as well just let him lead a whole panzer division

imagine give yourself and team a 40hp vest then using finka buff for 20 and all pushing with 160hp

whole point of blackbeard is so he can peek walls with a shield if you remove that he becomes pointless

whole point of blackbeard is so he can peek walls with a shield if you remove that he becomes pointless

You bring a good point, he would be strong with Finka. His plates however could instead from giving basic HP copy Rook's plates, reducing dmg per armour level by a certain percentange( could be a little lower than rook's stats?)

Indeed! The concept itself does fit current Siege, specially given the defender sided meta we have been in, for the past 4-6 seasons.
