Are flashbangs supossed to blind you if they detonate behind you?
I really dont know at this point, even when a flashbang or a candella detonates behind me i still get blinded, even when i turn around like 2 seconds before it goes off. Is this supossed to happen??

Flashes dont work right in siege.
I guess it kind of makes sense...cause the flashbang is so damn loud that it'll burst your eardrums even if you turn around. Regardless of direction, that is.
Light bounces around. So yes, a bright enough light will blind you even if you "turn around." This ain't CSGO.

Thats actually how it works in real life. You still get stunned when you are close, even if you turn around.
Unless its a reflective surface there wont be enough light reflecting to actually blind you so looking away should prevent the blinding effect. With that logic the sun would always blind you even if you were looking away, which it doesnt, im just asking if this is supossed to happen in game or if its just a glitch.

The thing is, it depends on how close you are to the light because the concentration is stronger, thus you will experience light at a higher intensity. But, light scatters, so the further the light source, the less of an intensity. However, mirrors will concentrate this light instead of scattering it, which is why you will take the full intensity of the light.

Location and positioning matters. The sun will not blind you when you look away from it because it is too far, unless you have a mirror or look at the sun directly. If you have ever tried looking at a white (or close enough to white) pavement while the bright sun is out, you will experience a bit of the light's intensity.

So my point still stands, the flash bang is close enough to you that it will still emit a light with a high enough intensity to blind you even if you turn around.

it's working as intended, if the flashbang detonate at 3 meters or less of your feets they will blind you no mater the direction you are looking, this has been confirmed numerous times by the devs.

If you put your back to the flashbang there will be no light going into your eyes directly, its going to move on a straight line until it hits the wall. If the surface is opaque which is usually the case with walls there will not be enough light reflecting to blind you. Since its around 180 db your hearing will still get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up but you will not be blinded if you are not looking directly at it.
Edit: I forgot one thing, since you will be casting a shadow in front of you there wont be any light directly in front of you so that makes the small amount of light actually reflecting back into your eyes even smaller.

Well that is retarded but thanks
This game doesn't go for the "realistic flash bangs" approach it goes, for the arcadeish approach of it even "effect wise" compared to Escape from Tarkov & Arma 3 mods.
I.E flash bangs effect from Escape from Tarkov:

Do people believe that flashbangs are actual flashes of light in real life?
You forgot to close your eyes, Alt+F4 to close eyes.
the flashbangs will blind you no matter what if they are within 3 meters away from you.

This is a joke right? Of course flashbangs are flashes of light its a pyrotechnic charge going off, typically aluminum or magnesium based.

Flashbang = sound + light
if the flashbang is really close to you it will blind you no matter what direction you face, a little stupid but fair, that makes flashes good when you can throw it at an enemy's position like a grenade.
BUT you can still block it if you're hiding behind a solid object, like a pole or a box or something, though you'll still be deaf, which makes flashes dumb because if you just throw it in the middle of a room, most of the times all the walls, shields, boxes, and furniture will just block the flash and the defenders will just be deaf.

its a bit weird, the mechanic like a hybrid, if the flash lands far enough from you you can look away and it wont affect you like in CSGO, but if the flash is close to you it'll just be an AoE
