Who should I unlock first based on gadget and usability?

Melusi is definitely a great, mobile play, and my favorite of these options! Her gadget is super useful to stop rushes if placed in the right place.

Melusi is the best pick if you want to win, she is overpowered for now, just get her.
Zero is also very good and very fun.
Oryx is meh, his gadget brings nothing and is so situational, but he is quite fun for Casual.

Don't have much to say on that one, we can agree to disagree as I have had more than enough success with my own strategies, and rarely struggle playing Melusi

Melusi's gadget is still considered one of the best in the game. She's a pro player darling purely for that, but in public matches it can depend. If in your games operators like Caveira dominate, then yeah, it's better to go for something more cheesy as you're not going to experience the kind of impact something like that can make when the attackers aren't making many mistakes. A lot of times it comes down to who has the better gun or who can easily sneak up behind someone at that low level of play. Nothing else.
