Why do people ban Echo?

Just wondering, I'm not understanding properly why people ban him and every time I ask on a match people don't answer lol

He is annoying. his gadget is cloaked so if you don't have an IQ or Thatcher, you have to look at the ceiling for his f-ing drone(s). Has infinite charges and throws away your aim, good observation tool, not to mention his weapon is silenced and does a lot of damage

Probably the same reason pro league has banned him, which is because there's a bug that makes his yokai invincible.

I think banning Echo is somewhere in between not wanting to play against him because he's frustrating, and a comfort ban. I think Echo could be one of those ops that are easier to deal with if you have coordination. Like, IQ is his biggest counter since she can just see them through walls, Thatcher can EMP them (if he's not banned), they emit this humming sound that's pretty easy to hear if you listen closely.

So echo is banned untless the game can be played the way it's meant to be played, in a coordinated team with people that listen

The intel Echo can gather is in my opinion much more valuable than a plant deny. Echo players should not rely on this ability only.

Also note it takes time to locate yokai drones if you have no IQ (need to look at reticule distortion) and you are vulnerable while trying to do so.
