idk man I'm hype as hell for breaching crouchholes in walls as nokk
Would definitely be cool, but it seems like it'd be hard to come up with another HB denier that isn't some variant of "electrifies things" or "disrupts signals". Maybe someone who's gadget is a second-layer reinforce that makes a couple units of hardwall resist their first breach attempt?
edit: Hey Ubi I have a great idea for a castle rework: let him do what I just said as an extra option for his castle walls
What if we allowed rework Castle that he can reinforce walls that will need twice the hard breach? He can only do two though and that's it. That's his normal reinforcement. Sounds like an idea that need a lot of polishing though.
Doesn't really feel that way for me at least. Feels like more of reinforced walls nowadays are just made of papier-mâché nowadays with the amount of hard breachers. But hey, each their own on things that they can't deal with and win or lose on a 55% basis so I won't really judge your win or lose streak against defenders or attackers.
Yeah, they aren't supposed to be impenetrable, but they shouldn't be able to casually open all of them too so easily.
Castle barricades are useless if there's a hole already on the reinforced wall beside it. And it also breaks down in a few hits sooner or later.
Banshees (depending on who uses them) can be easily dealt with with a melee on some occasions (for me, it's most of the time) as there's no one around them to actually try to hit me.
Maestro cams are pesky at best, but is can be easily shot down once it opens up or is dealt with a Thatcher that comes along to most of the games I play in.
Bandit/Mute/Kaid = EMP then a quick Hard breacher here and there.
Now, I have to say, I'm a bit envious on your situation where most people bring the ones you mentioned, but people that I get pitted against simply in casual always bring an EMP, Thermite, Ace, and a Monty, and the occasional random picked character of the day, usually Ash I have to say.
What I'm just saying is, there's already enough hard breachers that could break almost every reinforceable wall in the game, adding minor ones could now make it all of them. Can't guard all of them if you're defending the standard bomb room site with just 2 of your teammates (me being the second one) inside while most of the walls are gone now and the entire attacking team clearing the room quickly of the defenders while the other defenders are chilling it out waiting for their doom in the other bomb site or roaming towards the besieged room.
You can defend a room with breached walls, but you can't look in 2-3 different directions at the same time. That's why reinforcing walls was made right? To prevent normal breachers from making tons of holes. Though I am thankful they are giving them to operators that really do seem to need tools like this like Nokk (for those not so quiet run arounds) and Capitao that allows him to shoot a few smokes and fire inside the point, or Ying that opens up a lot of opportunity for her Candelas and etc.
But hey, as I said. To each their own. I won't really oppose your idea of liking the new hard breaching tools. I don't hate them personally, they just make defending for me tons harder as attacking for me is a lot easier and this is just me sharing my insight on how it'll affect my gameplay as I don't really speak for others.
(Also, here's the word "Potato" as an apology for the long post if you get the reference~)
I'm actually curious on what's your take on the importance of getting rid of those shields? Your playstyle wise.
Personally I prefer to leave them up to use for cover, though that can be a problem if they have frost mats behind them since I then have to find another way into whatever door they're on.
