Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

My internet is fine, but my ping is high
So, title, i'll explain a bit, two or three days ago everything was fine, and now it is like that, my internet max speed of downloading something was always have been 1.2 mb/s (i know, i know), and it is right now, videos load fast enough, download speed on speedtest is 9 mb/s and upload is 2.31 mb/s, while ping is 101ms on a washington DC server (from Mexico).

The problem is ingame, i've TONS of lag spikes, and this is not the only game affected, i can't complete a round because of this, what do you think it is?

I should open ports? (which i always found it confusing af)
I should call internet provider?

EDIT: So, i reseted my modem to default, everything is like new, the lag seems to have stopped (at least, it has improved a lot) on every other game but R6 Siege... This is starting to become annoying

Happened to me few days after the update but seems it got fixed by itself so idk I would probably wait up and change the servers from the ini file and see if another one gives you a lower ping.

I had 500kb/s down and 100kb/s up and I play at 70 ms on EUS while I live in central america so locaion shouldnt be a problem

Two things I can think of. Yes you should call your internet provider. And check your modem/router. If one of them is old, overheats, is cheap it could be affecting performance. Also are you on ethernet or wifi.

wifi doesn't really make any difference because i play on wifi and i dont have any lag spikes ever

Depends on distance, internet speed and other stuff like that because you might as well have way better internet than him so even if the signal is poor it would still be better

Yeah happens to me. I get removed from matches with 80 ping and it gets annoying when playing ranked

I know you said forwarding your ports were confusing, but it's probably your best bet. Ring your ISP, they will help you out with it:
