How long is a typical game ?
Thinking of getting this game.. How long is a typical online game? Is the game newcomer friendly?

15 to 20 minutes for casual, 30 to 45 for ranked. Be prepared for a huge learning curve.

The game has a big learning curve, you're gonna be playing casual until you get to level 60-100.
Casual has 3 rounds but it can go up to 5 meaning 2-2 score plus whoever wins the next round.

A match can last anywhere from 14 to 23 minutes in casual and 15 to 33 in ranked.

The game isn't worth it to new people at this point. Too many hackers and people who play a lot. You'll just get destroyed 9/10 times unless you practice in terrorist hunt for a while.

Brand new to the game. Was very worth the purchase. Grab some friends and head in game. At least for me, playing with friends makes winning or losing meaningless. I just enjoy the laughs during the game with my mates. Haven't come across hackers yet, though I am sure they exsist.

both issues dont actually exist. people of all skill level exist, hackers? well, last time i saw one was like 1 year ago and most share that experience

edit: or sth like 1 or 2 "possible" hackers, which COULD have something, but also could have some camera/drone set somewhere you missed to check and got called out on.

In Casual you have a total of five rounds, until the game is 3-2 to whichever team. Each round is 4 minutes, so that's a total of 25 minutes and that's if every round ends when the time reaches zero. Otherwise, it can be 5, 10, 15 - depends on the situation of each team's performances.

In Ranked you have a total of nine rounds, until the game is 5-4 to whichever team. Each round is 3 minutes, so that's about 27 minutes, give or take, and that alone also depends on the situation of each team's performances since you could end the game at 4-0, 4-1, or 4-2 - or 5-3.

Obviously in Hostage Rescue and Bomb modes these durations apply. In Secure Area you have an overtime, if two or more players of both teams are alive on sight.

Game itself is pretty easy, but community can be pretty mean.
I'd say it's not very friendly.

Yeah I haven't really had much trouble with hackers. I did have experience with a very obvious hacker but if you're with the right people you could actually turn that situation into a fun thing. Back when recruits used different organizations was when we experienced the hacker. We made it into a game to see who could survive by all going shield operators. At least to us it was a very fun time but I can understand why people wouldn't want that. Personally I think they've sort of helped the balancing issues for this game and I've had a good time with it.
